To all the Jewish people, why do you not believe that Jesus was the Messiah? I just want to know the reasons you don’t believe in Jesus.
Thank you
Thank you
Congratulations, I think that this is the first time this question has been asked this month! To all the Jewish people, why do you not believe that Jesus was the Messiah? I just want to know the reasons you don’t believe in Jesus.
Thank you
And already half-way through the month, too!Congratulations, I think that this is the first time this question has been asked this month!![]()
A few of them are even Jewish by background - Messianic Jews are mainly Christian by background Protestants who like a bit of Judaica in their lives.Actually some Jews do believe in Jesus. They are called Messianic Jews and they are really cool. I went to a Messianic festival a few weekends ago and it was great, lots of singing and dancing. They still celebrate all the festivals such as Passover and Yom Kippur, and still keep Sabbath, and call Jesus Yesuha. I really love the blending of the Jewish tradition with the Christian belief in the Trinity. After all, Jesus was a Jew, and Paul converted many Jews to Christianity.

As for traditional Jews who do not believe Jesus is Messiah, I think they just missed the boat!
i believe it is more than a few who are Jewish. i don’t think that Messianic Jews are mainly Christians.A few of them are even Jewish by background - Messianic Jews are mainly Christian by background Protestants who like a bit of Judaica in their lives.
Actually, none of them are Jewish - we Jews have another name for them, we call them ‘Christians’ -the proportion of them who are Jewish by background is something that would be a matter of dispute between us.i believe it is more than a few who are Jewish. i don’t think that Messianic Jews are mainly Christians.
i am sure it is not easy for some Jews to accept that some from their faith have left Judaism for other faiths whether it be Catholicism, Buddhism, Mormonism, or any other faith. Messianic Jews consider themselves still Jewish, but they believe that Jesus is their Messiah and theirr worship services have both a Jewish and Christian tradition.Actually, none of them are Jewish - we Jews have another name for them, we call them ‘Christians’ -the proportion of them who are Jewish by background is something that would be a matter of dispute between us.
I suppose that a group calling itself ‘Catholics for Mohammed’ might consider themselves ‘Catholics’ but I expect that Catholics would have another name for them - ‘Muslims’.
For the purposes of this thread, Messianic Jews are a diversion.
The OP asked why we didn’t accept Jesus, not why Christians accept Jesus - I expect that he probably is quite aware of why Christians accept Jesus.i am sure it is not easy for some Jews to accept that some from their faith have left Judaism for other faiths whether it be Catholicism, Buddhism, Mormonism, or any other faith. there are several Christian churches that like Judaica, but they still call themselves Christians even though they celebrate some of the Jewish holidays.
the roots of Christianity are in Judaism. Jesus was Jewish. Jesus spoke in the synagogues and celebrated Jewish holidays and lived a Jewish life. so why do you reject that some Jewish people do accept Jesus as the Messiah? why do you say Messianic Jews are a diversion?
when i took a discovering Judaism class, the rabbi said that one reason most Jews do not accept Jesus as the Messiah is because they believe that when he comes, he will stay and not leave and come back as Jesus died and was resurrected and He will come again.
did you read my last paragraph? The OP asked why we didn’t accept Jesus, not why Christians accept Jesus - I expect that he probably is quite aware of why Christians accept Jesus.
Did you read the links in my earlier post?did you read my last paragraph?
Hm, the OP asked why we don’t believe in Jesus, not why Christians believe in Jesus.Paul’s Letter to the Romans
Chapter 9
1 I tell the truth in Messiah—I do not lie, my conscience assuring me in the Ruach ha-Kodesh— 2 that my sorrow is great and the anguish in my heart unending. 3 For I would pray that I myself were banished from Messiah for the sake of my people—my own flesh and blood, 4 who are Israelites. To them belong the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the Torah, and the avodah, and the promises. 5 To them belong the patriarchs—and from them, according to the flesh, the Messiah, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen.
Hey Kanichen!Hm, the OP asked why we don’t believe in Jesus, not why Christians believe in Jesus.![]()
You could be right, although my source does not say so. I certainly would like a little Judaism in my religious experience, since more than half of the Bible is!A few of them are even Jewish by background - Messianic Jews are mainly Christian by background Protestants who like a bit of Judaica in their lives.
that is because the messianic jews are more closely related to the evangelical sect of christianity. You could be right, although my source does not say so. I certainly would like a little Judaism in my religious experience, since more than half of the Bible is!
Actually, I was watching a PBS show on Judaism, and they said that until about the time of Constantine, Christians would regularily attend Jewish festivals such as Passover, but then a prejudice against Jews began to develop in the Church and Christians were forbidden to attend them.
Seems a shame to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
Anyway, the source I quoted earlier says that Messainic Jews are Zionists. So they are certainly pro-Israel.
why is the topic of messianic jews a diversion to this thread? just because you are jewish and do not accept Jesus does not mean that we cannot acknowledge other jewish people who have accepted Jesus as their messiah.Actually, none of them are Jewish - we Jews have another name for them, we call them ‘Christians’ -the proportion of them who are Jewish by background is something that would be a matter of dispute between us.
I suppose that a group calling itself ‘Catholics for Mohammed’ might consider themselves ‘Catholics’ but I expect that Catholics would have another name for them - ‘Muslims’.

But it’s important to remember who built the boat!As for traditional Jews who do not believe Jesus is Messiah, I think they just missed the boat!
