Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign called a “lid” for all public activities on Saturday — the tenth time in September that the Democrat nominee will not be on the campaign trail.

Around 9:30 a.m. the campaign informed reporters the former vice president had no public events or travel scheduled for the rest of the day. A “lid” usually also means the candidate will not conduct press conferences or dispense press releases.

The announcement was not surprising given that Biden, himself, told the media on Wednesday he would be “heavily” engaged for the rest of the week with preparations for the upcoming presidential debate. Given that the general election is less than 40 days away, however, the act by Biden’s campaign elicited rebuke on social media. Many were quick to note that the former vice president was on track to be off the campaign trail more than a third of this month, with at least four lids called in the past seven days alone. . . .

. . . . More than a few reporters were quick to note that the Democrat nominee’s schedule stands in stark contrast to that of President Donald Trump, who has increased his travel in recent weeks as the general election has kicked into gear. On Saturday alone, Trump is scheduled to announce his nominee for the Supreme Court seat vacated by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, before flying to Pennsylvania for a rally with supporters.

The differences in schedules between Trump and Biden is quickly becoming a topic on the campaign trail. On Friday, during a visit to Atlanta, Georgia, Trump took a shot at Biden’s team for the frequency with which it allows the candidate to disappear from the campaign trail.

“If I lose to [this] guy — that’s like you losing to a fighter that, you know, hasn’t worked out in the last six months,” the president said. “This guy never goes out! It’s terrible, huh?”

Sky News host Paul Murray says the “corpse that is Joe Biden” is trying to do the virtual campaign where he gets “tuckered out after a day off”. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was asked very directly, “if you don’t want Trump to put somebody on the Supreme Court, could you tell me who you think should go on Supreme Court,” Mr Murray said. “His answer: I’m not telling.” When asked if voters should know who he would vote for, Mr Biden responded “no they won’t”. “But they will if I’m elected," Mr Biden said. Mr Murray commented, “this bloke looks like he’s going for a job in the ministry of Daniel Andrews."

In case some may not realize, there is a national and global pandemic still raging. This would account for a reduction of rallies by Biden, especially given the difficulty involved in social distancing.

The same tactic of portraying Hillary Clinton as physically unfit for the presidency was employed by Trump in 2016. History repeats itself, especially as a means of distracting from one’s one incompetence and recklessness.

OK.

For everybody else . . .

Why is Jill Biden seen more often than Joe on the campaign trail?

Apparently, Jill Biden is trying to escape her responsibilities teaching her community college students online, and I can’t say I blame her.

In case some may not realize, if Joe Biden is taking days off in the home stretch of a presidential campaign (at least days off from campaigning), and hiding out because “there is a global pandemic still raging” . . .

. . . If Jill is out on the campaign trail . . .

. . . She could very well bring anything home that Joe avoids by hiding out in his basement.

I think the handlers are keeping Joe out of the spotlight as much as possible, because they are worried Joe will cook his own goose again as he has done so frequently on other campaigns.

In other words, his handlers KNOW what a bad candidate Joe is.

Hiding Joe from you is part and parcel to fooling you into thinking Joe is a worthy candidate.

How convenient,a virus to hide from.I haven’t heard of any upticks in the virus from Trump’s massive rallies. Believe you me if there had been the media would have been all over it.
Trump is anything but incompetent. Like him or not he’s been a really good president for all,

I remember the conspiracies about her having some neurological condition that required a secret service agent to carry around a syringe.

She seems to have recovered nicely.

She fainted in the heat. That happens to people.

If it were a chronic issue, she’d still be sick and not hiking in the woods and other activities she participates in.

The US has the highest death toll. Almost 1000 a day.

It’s very responsible of Biden to wear a mask and to not have massive rallies.

Herman Cain died after going to an indoor Trump rally.

It’s irresponsible.

And offensive to the families of the thousands upon thousands of dead, to pretend that covid doesn’t exist.

Only problem with Biden is he didn’t wear a mask when face to face with a firefighters union last week. However he did where a mask for an online rally of sorts. He is one confused guy.Its really sad…

Are you suggesting staying home as so many are, masking up, quarantining HEALTHY people, and social distancing are not working?

Why do we have a higher death RATE than Sweden?

Are you counting the 94% that possibly have an incidental carrying of corona virus at the time they happened to pass away
as a “corona virus death” too?

How about life-years lost in America from corona virus?

With the average age of death of corona virus patients being age 81 and the average age of people dying WITHOUT corona virus being the same as those dying WITH corona virus (using 2017 death stats, the people dying of corona virus are actually, on the average, living LONGER than non-corona virus patients but it was probably statistically insignificant).

It other words, there are zero life-years lost with corona virus on THE AVERAGE.

Admitedly those numbers don’t help you
if you are one of the younger people proverbially being struck by lightening and dying,
but on the other hand,
the numbers at least put this in perspective.

he is off the trail completely for a third of September, it has nothing to do with him wearing a mask, why isn’t he scheduling small socially distant proper events?

Even when Biden has held a rally he has never drawn a crowd over more than eight eople. It has nothing to do with the virus,he’s just not inspiring. He waves at an empty field when deplaning, how very weird

After just seeing some of Biden’s live town hall meeting with Lester Holt as host, I can understand why Biden has been off the campaign trail more than a third of September although I understand he is stepping up his appearances now.

It’s not primarily gaffes, which Biden was always prone to, but his mind in general has turned to mush. Trump may be incoherent in putting words together, as was GWB, but his mind is still intact such as it is. Biden, however, not only looks frail but cannot really address a question in any focused way.

Personally, I’m going to find it difficult to vote for either of these candidates, for different reasons. I am now officially undecided.

Good point.

Fair enough Melterboy2. It will be your call through and through.

You know, this thread is trollish. If a person responds and said the story (courtesy of Breitbart) is inaccurate, then the OP states “but I got you to respond”. If you ignore the repeated silliness of slanted stories they just sit there and fester without being refuted.

Classic misuse of posting.

I still may vote for Biden. I’ll probably decide in the polling booth. No mail-ins for me.

that’s the best breaitbart can come up with to slander Biden? Sad, really sad.
