As a small child I had an eccentric aunt who would turn on the tv and listen to these very emotional preachers, and my grandmother, who was a lapsed Baptist from the South would shout at her to ‘turn that stuff off!’…and the preaching was always accompanied by this organ music.
My daughter’s mother in law is a Kenneth Copeland follower, and she won’t let me say anything about my demonic religion. Totally closed minded, and goes on and on about claiming certain phrases in the bible and to be positive and so on.
For my other daughter to see these ideas about using a few Bible quotes and everything revolving around getting material things you need, it drew her back deeper into the Church. I love my son-in-law very much, and pray for the mother.
