You’re right- Way out of line. And I’ve debated this thing before without feeling that there was disrespect. Like I’ve said before, I really don’t like John Haggee- the way he speaks about our church is just not nice- at least in tone “The Roman church” he says when he speaks about our judgment at the end of time for harming the apple of God’s eye (The Jews) etc. I also know his wife was Catholic before she became a member of his former church and I’ve heard her speak about it as “becoming a Christian”, clearly indicating that being Catholic is not being Christian.Marybeloved—
That man you saw on TV would have repulsed me, too. Whatever the exact nature of the relationship was between Mary and Joseph after Jesus birth, his crudely expressed opinion was out of line.
But his sermon on the Virgin that I saw really did warm me up. It was true respect and reverence like I hope Protestants would (or do) give her. You could tell he saw her as Blessed and righteous and beautiful. That made me very happy
