Don’t they interview these people before they hire them?

How about having her fired? I believe this would be “with cause”.

Well, at least she didn’t put these comments in the paper–they were apparently on a blog and under the name “Myster”. Yes, it certainly raises the question of a possible agenda, and certainly smacks of hypocricy. . .but it wasn’t (Thank God) actually printed in the diocesean paper.

Too bad it wasn’t printed in the paper. I think it would be very illuminating for those in the archdiocese to read and understand just who their editors are. I resent writers/teachers who misrepresent themselves.

John Paul II’s relation ship with the Mother of God seems to contradict the Misogynist label 😉

It seems that there’s more than one old post on her blog that she deleted…and most of them aren’t all that old.

One from May, another from September…I seriously doubt that she’s had a change of heart in the last two weeks…

From her blog:

“On the bright side, 47% of Catholic voters nationwide went for Kerry. Take that, overbearing archdiocesan leaders with political agendas! And don’t plan on hearing about it in the confessional, either! … After Kerry’s speech yesterday, I went online and started signing up for e-mail bulletins from every pro-choice, women’s rights and peace organization I could think of.”

Someone please can this woman, how can she even call herself a Catholic. She had restrained jubilation at Pope John Paul II passing.

Then to show she has zero integrity goes back and deletes her comments. what a coward!

Sadly, there are those who claim to be Catholics who will agree with her – look at the figure of 47% voting for a pro-abortion candidate (who also claims to be a Catholic.)

Am I the only one that sees the irony that she works for the “Catholic Anchor”? I’m assuming that the title was intended to say that it will be a place where you can anchor your faith, an unmovable rock of truth.
Yet… she wants to tear down the Church rather than strengthen it.

I believe its a play on the name of our citys “Anchorage” Alaska. We’re located on a deepwater inlet/port.

Of course, in this diocese, its more like tying your faith to an anchor—and then tossing it overboard…

I blame it on the complacency of our clergy and the dumbing down of Catholic doctrine since Vatican II. Marx said that “religion is the opiom of the people.” Hailed by professors examining their imaginative figments. Who say with their pro-Leninists sharades that “Catholicism will die out.” Neitzsche accused the Catholic Church of “blowing the whistle on sexuality.” All this moral relativism. Someone needs to straighten that woman out. She shouldn’t be editing in the first place.

And ironically, she “began work at the paper September 8th” – on the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady.

Sad. I always saw JPII as about the exact opposite of misogynistic. He seemed to me one of the few religious or world leaders who consistently upheld the rights and dignity of women.

Anyone have any links to the news as reported by an agency with no religious bias? I’d like to hear more than just the Catholic viewpoint. I’d also like to read the original article, if that’s possible.

You could always ask the devil to give you his view.
Ah, yes. The old “any differing point of view is evil” routine.

No I think I’ll still go look for the story as otherwise reported, thanks much.
