When you show an IQ higher than a lab rat I will talk to you so far you havent

If you dont like me - BITE ME

Except you do penance you shall perish
Obey Prelates they render an account of your souls
The manifold wisdom of God made known to principalities, powers in heavenly places through the church
And YOU CAN take it to the Bank

You need to do a little research. Sidney Rigdon’s grandson claimed Sidney told him he had helped with the Book of Mormon. It is also revealing that Sidney had all of his papers burned at the time of his death.

I suggest you read this:

mormonstudies.com/criddle/rigdon.htm
His grandson was an enemy of the lds church. And it is a second hand account. However, sidney told his son that that he had nothing to do with the book of mormon, if I understand it correctly. And this was on his deathbed.

Now you are selling Dan Vogel’s book. I think you really are a mole LDS missionary.
Pardon me, but Dan Vogel’s book is very critical of JS. His book is not at all promormon. Why would a mole lds missionary be plugging that book?

I put the book forward as a way for the antimormons on this thread to bone up on the latest information about the writing of the book of mormon.

I thought that it was rather fair of me.

.

Pardon me, but I don’t usually frequent the Non-Cath relgion forums. Those of you that do, please tell me: is this forum heavily infested with such moles? Because today is my first visit to this section and it looks to me that whyme and dosdog have their own agendas and just take up valuable space here on Catholic forums. Are there many more???
Excuse me but this is the non-catholic religions forum. What would you like to see on this forum? People post antimormon propaganda and I and Zerinus respond. I do think that Dosdog is far from being promormon.

What is your point? I also see Islam, Jehova’s Witnesses, SDA’s, Methodists, and many more threads dealing with non-catholic religions. What would you prefer for this section of the forum?

Could Jos. Smith have done automatic writing? Certainly yes. Some Saints have been known to have this gift, but it is also well known that the devil immitates this gift. Therefore there have been many, many occult books and treatises written by Wiccans and devil worshipers and neocramancers using automatic writing. And since Smith was an occult practicer before his Mormon Stardom and up his last days, he would certainly be open to being a channel for the devil’s use of this tool.

Add those names to the prayer intention for “zerinus”. Check his posts that all seem to link to his “blog” that is some sort of proof, according to…him.

Christ’s peace.

Because you said you were Catholic, and you are posting so much pro-Mormon information here. You are heavily into pro-Mormon literature, and you don’t see the inconsistencies of it. I don’t know how you could ingore the obvious, unless you are decieved, and a member of that religious cult. If you are a member, than why not just say so?

You can’t be both Catholic and Mormon. They don’t blend.

I don’t know what Dosdog is. Since he was posting entire articles from Mormonisn, I assumed he was Mormon. But yes, I probably am wrong on that, because I see that ALL all his posts are cut and pastes, and are devoid of any discussion.

Well, I have been a member for many years. And yes, I have said that I would defend the lds church if I thought that it needed defending. It is just that much that is said on this forum do have answers from the lds apologists. Nothing is simple and without sides. Sure, I can call someone a fraud, but I would need to prove it. And so far, no one has proven JS to be a fraud in founding the lds church according to his story. It is a complicated story complete with people testifying to its truthfulness when the plates were received and translated. Not to mention the visions that took place when the priesthood was restored.

Joseph needed much support in the complicity to make this all work and he needed them all to keep their mouths shut. Nearly imposible in my opinion and yet, this is what happened. How to explain it?

The antimormons on this site tend to simplify the whole story to JS. But that is far from the truth.

What is the obvious? Nothing is obvious, not really. But there are many complications. Likewise for the catholic faith.

I am much more active in the catholic church but this doesn’t mean that I will let the more antimormon biasness go unchecked.

how is what Joseph Smith did any different than mohamed? do you believe the Koran too since no one has “proven” it to be false?

just because mormon apologists have “answers” doesn’t mean those answers are correct. mormonism contradicts the bible. their answer is that the Bible was “mistranslated”. of course they still use a “mistranslated” bible because it helps with converts. Mormonism doesn’t even follow the BoM anymore. the answer is continuing revelation. different times require different doctrines. these things don’t even make sense. of course the lure of becoming a God keeps a lot of folks trying. no wonder that was Satan’s first temptation.

If you are sincere, something is sincerely wrong with you, Why Me. You cannoot communion with both the Mormons and the Catholics. You may not recieve communion at the Catholic Chruch and then go worship at the Mormon Church, as you have stated here on this forum. When you talk to the priests and nuns you say you talk to, you need to tell them you are doing this. They will set you straight.

It is quite amazing just what a book worm Joseph Smith was. Unfortunately, no one ever saw him with a book and his home library was quite barren. 😦 I do believe that JS the money digger and the supporter of magic, didn’t have time to research. But if so, the man was truly amazing to be so much and yet, be no one in his community. His neighbors were not impressed with his intellect. 😊
ah, if you do a little research you will see that JS personal library was quite impressive.

I still attend the Mormon sacrament meeting with my family. There is almost no worship in a normal Mormon sacrament meeting so it is difficult to accuse someone of worshiping there. Most of the time is spent listening to “talks” in defense of Mormon doctrine rather than worshiping.

Sorry, you can not restore a priesthood that was not lost. Hebrews 7 or 8 tells us that only Jesus holds the M priesthood and that it is non-transferable.

2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Amen! 👍 And keep praying that the scales will fall from their eyes.

And yet, just the other day, someone said to me: ‘Your daughter is so beautiful. I just don’t mean her looks but she has such inner beauty too. It radiates from her’.

I wonder where that inner beauty comes from? From leading a Christ-like life, perhaps? 🙂 And yet, she is a mormon…🙂

I know what you mean – I often hear the same thing about my Mormon kids. If people would imitate the Mormon lifestyle they would all be happier. I see many Catholic kids who do this as well, and Baptists, etc. I do think there is something which comes from leading a Christ-like lifestyle that is more important than what we believe. In the end, though, our works don’t save us.

You are right about leading a christ-like life and radiating that inner beauty from such a lifestyle.

No works don’t save us per se but works with faith in christ does help. We all can change our severe sinful ways or at least attempt to change. And we all can do good works instead of evil. I think that it becomes a question of being holy and our definition of what that means.

That seems to be why the Catholic Church does not take the position that only Catholics will be saved. The Catholic Church recognizes that God may be leading people towards salvation even outside the Catholic Church, but that eventually all salvation comes through the Catholic Church which Christ established to be his body. How that happens is a mystery, but perhaps those prayers we say in Mass asking God to bring all the departed into his presence have more power than we realize. That does not insure universal salvation of course, but it does give us hope for those who are seeking God without finding the truth in the Catholic Church during this life.

And of course we are way off topic at this point. The problem with Mormons has nothing to do with the life a faithful Mormon leads. The problem is the complete absurdity of their founding documents such as the Book of Mormon. I am completely satisfied their founding documents have been proven to be false. The Swedenborgian connection is just one evidence of that.
