Just need to get through the night

Dear friends, please pray that I’ll be relaxed enough to get some sleep tonight. The panic/depression issues that I’ve been dealing with have intensified to a constant barrage. I have an appointment with my doctor, but I’m not sure I can hold out until then without serious prayer and divine assistance. I feel like I am truly unraveling, and I am terrified that something more serious may be behind these symptoms. It’s astounding that I’m even typing this, really. There are moments when it seems like lucidity escapes me. Pray for a miracle.
Keep believing you are in the hands of G_D and being held close. During times of panic this can be a difficult attitude to maintain. But face your panic. Ask yourself what is the worst thing that can happen. Wouldn’t it be loss of belief in G_D’s care? Jesus said, “I am with you always”. He meant that for us too.:yup:

CatholicNerd I am glad to read that things are starting to sort themselves out. Now make sure you continue to take your medication as prescribed!!! Father Groeschel from EWTN, who is a psychologist as you may know, writes and talks about the importance of this regularly. Keeping you in my prayers!

Well, I am happy to hear things are starting to come together for you!

I grew up with a seriously mentally ill Mother - so I have a special place in my heart for anyone suffering from any pyschological illness which is, of course, actually a physical illness.

Please know that I will keep you in my prayers for a complete healing of this depression and anxiety and that you start to enjoy the peace that passes understanding.

May God continur to bless you with His grace, love and mercy.

No matter how bleak, or how joyous life appears some days, the Lord’s Hand is in all of it. Thank and praise His Holy Name for each event that comes your way, as He is perfecting your soul. He so strongly desires you to be with Him throughout eternity that He must send some discipline from time to time. Life is not ending, it is only beginning! Bear up to each test, for the Lord has already given you the strength. You have only to call it up.

Continued prayers and may Christ’s peace always be yours.

Happy to hear that things are getting better! I will continue to pray for you. May God continue to bless you and be with you.

This man speaks of which he knows. May both of you ( po187guy and CatholicNerd) be blessed and delivered through your trials.

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while. The medication I’ve been taking has made me very sleepy, and I’ve been so busy when I haven’t been sleeping. I have had two particularly good days since my last post. That in and of itself is encouraging. But this recovery is going to be arduous.

Pray that I will never turn my gaze from Christ during this time. And pray for the souls of the atheistic philosophers and mathematicians throughout the ages who have propagated the poison that started my downward spiral. I hate them, but I feel compelled to pray for their souls anyhow.

Pray that I will never turn my gaze from Christ during this time.
Praying a Bible verse for you, from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Noon reading (Sext)

Jeremiah 32:40 ©

I will make an everlasting covenant with them. I will not cease in my efforts for their good, and I will put respect for me into their hearts, so that they turn from me no more.

CatholicNerd, our prayers of thanksgiving are with you and for you. In reading your last post, something struck me. As Christ told the rich young man, “You lack one thing”. For those who persecute you, even via your own cognitive process, release your grip on animosity toward them. It is a foothold for the evil one. God is love, and desires you to love each of His creations that He also loves. He has spoken this to your heart via His Eternal Son, our Lord Jesus:

Matthew 5:43-45 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

Christ’s peace be always with you.

Thank you for your continuing prayers. My thoughts have become very nihilistic and deterministic in nature over the past few days. I’ve found myself speaking without thinking, and in many cases not thinking at all before acting. While the results have not been disastrous (actually they’ve been quite productive! I’ve been doing housework and practicing for work), I’m worried about what this signifies.

Either I am being tested by the Lord or my mind has truly begun to deteriorate. The main assault from the Evil One that I am enduring now is the thought that *all *of this is random and that all of my actions are predetermined. The feeling isn’t constant, thank the Lord, but it is a large part of my day. Without God, everything crumbles. Mathematics, philosophy, ethics, the arts… even language itself. A life without God, love, and reason is no life at all.

If my brain is deteriorating, pray that I will never ever lose sight of God or of love.

My wife and family are worried sick about me. I need serious angelic intervention. Please call on Saint Michael to defend me from the arrows of the evil one. If it’s possible to do so, could you have a Mass offered for me?

I just lifted you up in prayer before our Lord, and asked Saint Michael’s intercession. Acting without thinking and speaking without thinking is not an illness, it’s the human condition. I have what you have!

Give your doctor, and the Lord, the six months that treatment was estimated to take. It seems like forever, but eternity is much longer.

Christ’s peace, brother.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. I’m very excited. I just found out that my new parish has all night adoration every First Friday. I’ve decided to go, and I will pray for you for continued strength during your trial.

I am not Catholic so I can’t offer a mass but I CAN pray (and I have been) for you and I will be more than happy to ask St Michael to intercede.

Hang in there and fight the good fight - you have more people than you know praying for your recovery.

***Awesome; the RX for a complete healing…‘irradiated in His Love’ 😉 ***
You will be remembered in my prayers during my scheduled Adorations (4pm;est;saturdays).

Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary mother of God
Pray for us sinners, now and at the
hour of our death.
Amen

Catholicnerd:

Can you PM your name so I can have a Mass said for you. I’d hate to write on the card Catholicnerd, but I suppose that would be o.k. It’s up to you! Either way, I will pray for you at Mass tomorrow! God bless.

I’m sure you can just make up a name, the Lord will know your intentions, the priest may dismiss it because he might think it’s a joke.
“St. Jude, glorious apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the person (who betrayed our Lord) has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of things despaired of. Pray for CatholicNerd, who is suffering; pray for him, that he may finally receive the consolations and the succour of Heaven in all his necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly the graces to endure and that his heartfelt desires maybe fulfilled so as to give glory to our Lord, and an attestment to your powerful intercession, and that he may honour God with the Elect Throughout Eternity.”
Amen.

Harmony,

That’s a good idea. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that!
