As long as California keeps giving us Pelosi, I have very little respect for anyone there. Can’t knock us for Trump if you can’t even find a better representative than Pelosi. For 20 years.

Sorry for being off topic.

But why can’t the Democrats run a moderate? Why do they need someone as left as Obama or Sanders. The right hasn’t ran a conservative for president since before Bush. Everyone we sent up has been moderate.

You don’t know Californian voters! lol
I don’t comment on politics outside my own country. But I’ve had this question for long that I deem fair: California is said to be the richest State in the richest country on Earth, how does that correlate to voting intentions?

Well she tossed her hat into the ring of potential Dem candidates for president. She’s the “Obama” of the party right now. I was all about her until her behavior in the Kavanaugh and later Bueschener nonsense. Senator Harris, speak to me and fellow Californians in a becoming manner, without calling us “dogmatic devils”.
Oh .

It sounds like you don’t like her .

There’s been a lot of political stuff on the forum of late .

I think time would be better spent by sending letters to your politicians .🤔

The thread is literally titled:

Kamala Harris vs the Knights of Columbus

It’s an inherently political thread by virtue of the first subject (Kamala Haris) being one of two subjects in the title.

I’m sorry that bothers you.

I only mentioned California in terms of voting for this particular woman who became our senator! 🙂

I’d like to see us not only unseat her as senator but to shame her in her bid for the presidency which she just recently announced.

I personally don’t like Harris either, admittedly I’ve had my own reasons before this drama. Her unwillingness to go after the big banks that violated consumer protection laws in the state of California tells me that she’s weak. Of course now she’s basically attacking moderate Catholics to get a win over Trump and for media attention

Kamala Harris… making the Democratic Party the Know Nothings of 2019!

Anti-Catholicism is OK because… (fill in excuse here).

The question is (and should be) for ANY judge: “Are you going to decide cases based on the law or based on your private religious beliefs?” A fair question for anyone, not just Catholics.
What Catholic beliefs do you see as being in conflict with U.S. law? Should there be a list of questions to test candidates from each faith?

Sorry, you post deserves a better response than I gave before.

Truth be told, us Californians are spoiled brats, and we’re used to it.

We all know that our economy is larger than every other state in the union, and even larger than those of every other nation. We’re haughty because of it and we get cocky. Lord have mercy!

We’re also the state from which Hollywood unleashes its craziness, and so we can expect a bit of rancor.

Lord have mercy!

but actually the USA is ranked as 11th richest, and California is the 8th richest state.
GDP isn’t per Capita and the latter doesn’t reflect volume.

Careful there my friend, us Texans are on track to overtake California in terms of economic growth.

and so we can expect a bit of rancor.
Not from me brother. I’m from a place with universal healthcare, there are no gangs and no guns, no police shootings, no homeless, low incarceration rate, no death sentence, no life imprisonment, no racial tensions, no third strike, consumption is decriminalized, and Mickey Mouse is imported.

We have all the benefits and none of the drawbacks…LGBT isn’t an issue here, everyone does as they please no fuss, hype or polemics… We have a 3rd party, a 4th party, even a 5th party - and all together still don’t make for a choice, yet tenaciously manage to mismanage the country. Any upright man gave his last minute of attention to politics decades ago, abandoning any and all hope in secular State authority - as a matter of principle, of national pride.

Do you think I’d trade that for all the money in the world??

Me too. He makes me cringe at times, but I don’t see anyone in the Democratic Party now who would step up to protect the religious freedom of Christians.

Is a puzzlement!
Where is this dubious paradise? Do tell!

I don’t agree with KH politics, so I am glad she is taking on the K of C, and by proxy other religious organizations. She will lose this battle.

Harris has no interest in judges who go for the law instead of for their private beliefs. She wants judges who go for their private beliefs instead of the law – that’s why she goes hard after any judge who doesn’t share her private beliefs.

I wonder if they ask questions about other men’s organizations. Fraternities, Masons, Lions, Elks, Skulls etc. Not at all equating these groups or making any particular point, just curious.

People who object to Kamala’s line of questioning obviously haven’t been reading any threads on this forum.

Certainly based on my years of reading threads here, most posters–if they were judges–would decide cases based on their religious beliefs. Nice in a theocracy, but not in the USA.
No, this was a religious test hands down. That’s why the US Senate voted to denounce religious tests in the aftermath of this.

This is also why Hawaii Democrat US Representative Tulsi Gabbard denoused Sen. Harris and Sen. Hirono’s comments.

God Bless

Sounds like a gilded cage…
