My apologies if this was posted before, but it seems that one Kathy Saile was appointed as the USCCB’s Director of Domestic Policy. A short text of the apointment is here:

usccb.org/comm/archives/2007/07-142.shtml

However, Catholic blogs report that Ms. Saile has spoken at politically charged “progressive” functions that support abortion.

Since August 2004, Saile has been Associate Director of Public Policy for Lutheran Services in America (USA), in Washington. Catholic Mom asks wasn’t there anyone else? My thoughts exactly. I believe the Faithful deserve some answers here. Couldn’t the Bishops have found one faithful Catholic in a country of 300 million with similar experience and expertise?

I plan on writing the USCCB and I urge others to do the same:

The USCCB, like any organization does, chose the person who they think most nearly represents their point of view. I don’t think there’s much else to know.

And concerning these decisions it is not the actual Bishops who make these decisions, but the beaurocrats who work at the USCCB office.

The bishops, however, do have the authority to direct the bureaucrats and countermand their actions. In my view, there’s not a lot to be proud of with the USCCB, including a good number of the bishops.

If the Pope would appoint better Bishops, they would probably choose better staff.

When you do not know them personally and intimately then you don’t know what they will turn out like.

Just look at whom we elect and keep electing to public office.

Jesus appointed Judas. . . who apparently must have served well for SOME of the time. Even the most saintly person can fall into sin. . .and even the most hardened SINNER can repent and make restitution. . .

We’ve been discussing this appointment at “cafeteria is closed.” closedcafeteria.blogspot.com/2007/09/meet-new-usccb-domestic-policy-director.html

I don’t know that Ms. Saile is a pro choicer but her appearance at WIN was much more insidious. The purpose of WIN, as stated in it mission, is to elect “pro-choice, Democratic women” and it supports a sordid menagerie of alternative life style and far left causes including its “Queer” group (their word not mine). What Ms. Saile did was to appear before WIN to strategize over how to get the “religious” vote to support them and their sordid causes. In other words, Ms. Saile uses her “religious” connections (she was formerly employed by the Phoenix Diocese and the Lutherans) to lie to Catholics on why they should vote for pro abortionist, pro-“queer”, lefties and to win an election. Regardless of your political sentiments or affiliation, Ms. Saile is now the Domestic Policy Advisor for the Roman Catholic Church in America and she needs your vote. If you think that this is the sort of thing that the Church should be doing, then all this is probably fine with you, but if you are offended by the Church engaging in this sort of nonsense regardless of your party, then you should contact the USCCB and tell them to behave like good shepherds instead of politicians.

Folks I knew this woman was trouble and the fact that she insults the Latin liturgy is just stupid. What were the bureaucrats in the U.S. Bishops thinking when they chose her? Obviously not thinking clearly. Imagine if she was this ignorant of any other business she would have been canned faster than you could fry an egg. This qoute however got my attention, “We’ve begun to regress to some pre-Vatican II activities, like singing Latin responses. I don’t understand any of it!”

Here’s the email address. Scream LOUDLY and make your point known. More from the tree hugging people of “peace” and “tolerance”. The USCCB’s true colors revealed.

I suspect several of the bishops are cheering her on.

I sent this:

To whom it may concern:

What is your new domestic policy director’s views on the following topics:
  1. Abortion
  2. Contraception
I have read on the web that she has spoken at “pro-choice” functions. What are her personal views? Lastly, is Ms. Saile a Catholic, or a Lutheran? Thank you for your consideration and God Bless.

Yours sincerely in Christ,

John

Let’s see how long it takes to get a response. I plan on following up with a phone call.

This is of little surprise to me. Let us not forget that it is the USCCB (with another female head - which presupposed not being ordained - with connections to a pro-abortion institution) that directs dioceses around the country to force children(starting with kindergarten) to be exposed to their new sex education teaching (also known as Talking About Touching) under the auspices of “protecting” them from sexual predators - simply a very greased slippery slope to funnel in all kinds of left-loving concepts as using condoms when you are 13 and how wonderful it is when Johnny has 2 daddies.

We should have nothing to do with edicts, suggestions, recommendations, or mandates that come from these people unless they are proven authentically Catholic. We are not bound to the USCCB nor to teaching that is in opposition to the Magisterium.

I hope you cc’d Rome.
I will.

What in the world is wrong with the USCCB? I get so tired of trying to explain to those who are not Catholic (and to some who ARE Catholic but not practicing) why we have bishops who do things like this and who seem to ignore Church teachings. It is frustrating to many of us. They are losing the little bit of credibility they have left - and I’m getting to the point of pretty much ignoring them.

Smoke of Satan is in the church.
