If the Iranian regime feels like its existence is threatened it is liable to lash out in unexpected and dangerous ways. We don’t know exactly what’s gonna happen in the coming weeks.

Using a drone is cheap and simple method to attack relatively small targets. Just imagine what would happen to a Trump rally!
This reads an awful lot like you are imagining a drone strike on a Trump rally. That is truly despicable and disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself.

And i’m suppose to believe there is not extreme hate for Trump and his supporters???

You might consider asking @Khedron for clarification, rather making assumptions about what @Khedron is imagining, calling for shame, and proclaiming hate.

It really easy to ask, and arguably much more compatible with the rules of the forum.

I am open to being proven wrong. Not going to hold my breath for it to happen.

Oh the irony. It’s so thick.
Sadly, it was more than a one-off.

It would be reassuring to know that the Defense and State had brought this forward, in contrast to the Ukraine debacle that they opposed and covered-up.

I really hope this doesn’t lead to war with Iran.
If it does, this is a big problem…Iran has a formidable military and nationalistic resolve.

I am concerned about the 12 weeks I will spend overseas in 2020, but not as concerned after an assassination that Pompea or Trump should be in any of their future travels abroad.

Pray for Peace!

I don’t think that there is any virtue in being open to correction about wrongful attacks.
Why not ask, rather than attack?

It says a lot about the US presidency. I’m sure that Trump was very sincerely expressing anti-interventionist statements, but clearly US capital can’t sustain itself without regularly spilling the blood of the international proletariat. War is essential for international capital to operate, so the US president is doomed to be a war monger.

I replied to them directly and you called them by username with the @ twice. They are notified 3 times over. If they want to offer a correction they will.

I disagree. Trump is, thus far, one of a kind, and nothing about him reflects on the US Presidency.

It will likely never be clear why this assassination was undertaken, because Trump has undercut the authority of US intelligence, his generals, and his leadership in Defense and State. He has also been outspoken on wagging the dog. While I am hopeful that this action was taken with proper thought and analysis, Trump has given everyone reason to believe that it was just an impulsive action taken while he is under pressure.

It will likely never be clear why this assassination was undertaken…
Dislike for Trump does not rule out the reasonable possibility that, after other provocations, the attack on our embassy was seen as a bridge too far and a decisive response was called for. Trump is not Obama, and Baghdad will not be another Benghazi.

I think it’s pretty obvious. Iran has been a thorn in the side in Iraq for a decade now. Whatever worth there was to the Bush intervention, Iran threatens to undermine the Iraqi government, and there’s little point to crushing ISIS only to have Iran step into the breach. I won’t say I agree with the assassination, but if you proceed from the logic of not having Iraq carved up from the other side when everyone is trying to put it back together, this is a logical, if potentially dangerous move. This is about forcing Iran to stick its hand out so the US can smack it very hard.

I have already expressed my hopes along these lines.
Although today’s statements are more about future attacks, presumably realizing that the assassination was not a proportionate response to previous attacks.
The facile deflection to “dislike”" misses the point, as it generally does. Trump has given us all every reasons to doubt that this was a thoughtful response, made on the basis of trustworthy intenlligence, analysis, and strategic thinking. He has also made us aware of his sense that the political value of striking at Iran. Those reasonable doubts illustrate the trouble with Trump in a position that actually requires mature leadership.

Silly question to ask without the caveat to pray for peace.
There’s certainly no obligation to state the obvious. I could say the same about your statement.

You are totally correct. That is an improper thing to write.

War certainly seems good for the advancement of some political agendas, I suppose.
