it happened again today…
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Former Republican presidential hopeful Alan Keyes, a Roman Catholic priest and 19 others were arrested Friday after marching onto the University of Notre Dame campus to protest President Barack Obama’s planned commencement speech.
“Notre Dame is arresting a priest,” the Rev. Norman Weslin, founder of the Lambs of Christ abortion protest group, said as Notre Dame security personnel put plastic restraints on his wrists Friday. “Why are you arresting a priest for trying to stop the killing of a baby? You’ve got it all backward.”
On Friday, there were no strollers or bloody dolls, but some of the protesters carried signs that read: “Defend her honor, rise and strike for the unborn.”

so no blood fake or in pictures, and they still get arrested. God bless everyone that has the courage to protest this weekend, but especially the ones who go all out for the unborn and refuse to hold back because someone might get offended.

I haven’t understood this from the beginning. It distrurbes me even more that not only is Dr. Keyes being arrested, but also a Priest at a Catholic Universtity. They turely have their priorities mixed up this time. All these people are trying to do is make a peaceful public protest. WHERE HAS OUR COUNTRY COME TO!!!

I don’t know the exact circumstances of the arrest, but I would imagine that this priest in question and Senator Keyes would not have been arrested had they not done something they weren’t supposed to. Regardless of how extremely we may feel about the abortion issue, I’m of the opinion that we lose credibility by breaking the law in the process of protesting.

The Yahoo news report said that they were arrested “after marching onto the University of Notre Dame campus”. As I understand it, the campus is private property, so their protest was not public. The right to public protest does not allow automatic entry onto private property.

Apparently this is SOP at this former Catholic institution. The university website indicates that “The campus is operating under normal conditions.”
So campus secuirty personnel pushing an elderly priest to the ground and arresting him is “normal”?:mad:

Perhaps, it was the horrendous evil crime of trespassing on the grounds of a so-called private Catholic institution that behaves as a secular public one. In any event, in light of the mass genocide of innocent life, your sentiments may have been shared by many law abiding German citizens in the '30s and '40s. I trust you may not be aware of that

Hmmm… So how come the camera crews and reporters didn’t get arrested?
🤷

The University of Notre Dame is quickly becoming the University of Shame. I’m inclined to wonder, if this is a Catholic University where is the Christianity? It’s actions so far have been anything but Christian, anything but supporting of the Right to Life. Is the University pro-abortion I wonder?

By the way, I’m a Brit. Guess how this plays out on the world stage.

Since when is a Catholic university off limits to a priest? It’s not private property in any sense of the word…This man is a Catholic and a priest he has every right to be there…more right than Obama thats for sure

Good question!

I wonder if any of the security guards are practicing Catholics:confused:
How could they obey a command that is anti-Catholic!

Amen. I am a history instructor at a large secular university and am encouraged to show images from the Holocaust when lecturing on WWII, but if I were to show similar images of the new holocaust against the unborn in a lecture on the social revolution of the 60s and 70s I would jeopardize my job. But make no mistake, the parallels between the two are undeniable. Indeed, in both cases the status of personhood is the point of contention. Moreover, Margaret Sanger and her eugenics theory was the catalyst for both movements.

I suppose this bunch will now label this 80 year old priest a terrorist

Just spoke with my friends over the cellphone picketing at Notre Dame. They are picketing right now, there are about 100 people at the main entrance. They passed out a bunch of signs and rubber Obama masks they bought last Halloween. They have two sign trucks driving around the campus 24 hrs a day. There have been a few arrests already, but it is going well. There is a lot of media coverage. The turnout is real good, which may be keeping the arrests down, the police don’t want to make a scene anymore than what it is.

God Bless

As an American descended from British ancestry, my bet is it plays out as absolutely disgusting.
As well it deserves.
