If the Koran says Jesus is the messiah then how do you explain Sura 29:46? It says Muslims should not question Christian scripture…
Hi

Please read the context of the verses, Quran simply does not say what you have mentioned above.

Since, you seem to have many a questions, and I don’t debate with anybody. I only discuss. I suggest you to kindly study all such verses from the following link, that would clear the true perspective of the verses:
alislam.org/
Quran in English w/ 5 Vol. Commentary

Thanks

Abraxis, the fact that they call Jesus the Messiah itself is fascinating - they don’t understand the meaning.

There’s a list of resources dealing with the Islamic error here

´´1-Then that’s you refuting yourself in two sentences.
The Koran sites what it thinks the Trinity is, and say don’t believe in it.´´

i am not refuting myself in anything. the quran doesnt state to their christians what is their trinity and i already many times on his thread explained to you that The criteria for divinity is different with Muslims than with catholics.

‘‘2-Excatly. And we don’t take Mary as a God besides Jesus and God (the Father). The Koran is wrong.’’

i didnt write that quote that you replying to . you are quoting me on somthing i didnt write ?!!!

QUOTE]

"Question :
If true Christianity brought the message of the Oneness of God (Tawheed), and stated that He alone is to be worshipped to the exclusion of anyone else in His creation, whether that is ‘Eesa (Jesus) or anyone else, then how did this religion become mixed with polytheistic beliefs (shirk) and how did they take ‘Eesa (Jesus – peace be upon him) and his mother as gods besides Allaah?.
Answer…When Christianity conquered Rome, the new religion (i.e., Christianity) was infused with the blood of the old idolatrous religion: the title of archbishop, worship for the great mother, and an innumerable number of lords who gave peace of mind and were like who exist in all places and cannot be detected with the senses. All of this came into Christianity as the blood of the mother comes into her child.

con’t…
Excuse me but the Quote you mentioned above was not the Quote of muslims but the quote of some oen called Will durant

‘’’’'Will Durant says:

Again and Again. and Again . the quran cant care less of how to establish the trinity doctrine for christianity and it doesnt do it . peiople like you construct what you want to think the quran establishes then try to propve it wrong. but its your opinion and not the qurans’!!

Dont paste pages and pages of worthless banter montalban!! just paste your proof in brief!!

LOL:D I Did post evidence! Very little was ‘banter’

Another classic Islamic ploy - ignore evidence/demand evidence already given.

You wanted more proof. I gave it. Islamic sites that acknowledge the historical position of Islam towards Christianity/The Trinity

Its a massive mistake of Muhammed’s. It’s like a terrible straw-man.

No. The quote I quoted was given at the site I cited. What seems to confuse you is that the questioner probably used the same words from said person and asking “Is this true…?” that is, he read it somewhere. Wrote in to the Islamic site said “Is this true of Christians?” and the site says yes.

And they cite sources themselves, viz…
This is what the American writer Draper refers to:

Idolatry and polytheism entered Christianity through the influence of the hypocrites who occupied positions of influence and high positions in the Roman state by pretending to be Christians, but they never cared about religion and were not sincere at all. Similarly Constantine had spent his life in darkness and evil, and he did not follow the commands of the church except for a short while at the end of his life. (p. 337)

Who knows. The original question may not be from a genuine person but a creation of someone at that site. Regardless, that site is an Islamic expert site and they agree with my contention, not yours. Well spotted, but to no avail.

You’re off the mark here.

Indeed the Koran is not about ‘establishing’ the doctrine of the Trinity. But that’s not the point. It wouldn’t do this because you don’t believe in it. But what it does do is state what Christians believe and refutes that - and creates a massive straw-man because Christians don’t follow the Trinity as the Koran claims that we do.

Actually you are incorrect. Take the time and read the posts more diligently, the proof is there! You have unfortunately missed it or are blatantly ignoring it, but it is there and throughout this thread.

There has been much debate as to the errors and contradictions in the Koran. There are different categories of errors that include but are not limited to, Historical Errors, Errors in Grammar, and Contradictions.

Let us discuss this important topic

Please keep the topic polite, respectful, and honest. It will do everybody good if we exhibit the appropriate Christian behavior.
There are so many, what kind of errors or contradictions in the Qur’an are you looking for?

Indeed! I for one have gone to great pains to quote from Islamic sources on this matter.

They try all manner of ways to wriggle out of the fact that Muhammed made a massive straw-man against Christianity. It’s proof that the Koran’s not from a higher being, because God would know.

I am really lost !!

Have I read right during this thread ??

The Koran invented the Arabic language ???

So that is why it is hard to translate it into English.

What language did Mohammed speak and write before he was chosen to be a prophet ?

How come the Maltese language can be full of Arabic, and I (being Australian) can learn Maltese ??

Montalban, help me :o

I think that the person meant that it formalised the Arabic language - by having a standard text with grammar, spellings etc.

It should thus be ‘easier’ to look at the Koran because it’s a standard… whereas a modern reader in English can get mixed up just reading Shakespeare… which is much more recent.
So that is why it is hard to translate it into English.

Why Arabic, anyway? Why would their god tie faith into having to learn a particular language?

That’s a good point Maltese is a semetic langauge - the only one using the Roman script.

You can learn it, or any Semetic language, including Arabic.

Meedo and others simply want to pretend that many of the errors come from mistranslations… its a way of projecting the errors onto someone else

Yes, Dolphinlove, the great Sheik would return from over-seas to discover someone had actually recorded what he said and translated it - he’d have been found advocating the murder of Jews, or something like that, but would immediately claim the translation was faulty.

Guys, ever read what the Ahmadiyya talk about? they are very good at twisting language to their purpose. Mainstream Muslims can do the same .Any debate about language will end up in a chaos exactly because words have different meanings. Worse yet, there are words in the Quran that Arabs themselves do not understand. Why reveal them in the first place when the book is supposed to be clear? Allah knows best. Do not ask about things that might harm you, as Allah says;)

Allah says we cannot find errors in the Quran. We say sorry but we found many. Yet we ask Allah? Who is the judge?Allah will reply : Muslims of course so Allah’s challenge, once again, is faulty and smells of human way of thinking. Yes there are many errors and we see them clearly. Muslims will either point out to language or say we have a wrong interpretation. In other words, Allah failed to provide a book that clearly shows no errors yet he challenges us. He challenges us when everything he said about our belief is hilarious to say the least, yet we cannot say he’s in error because we surely “do not understand”. If he knows we do not understand then he better not challenge in the first place. He cant write errors and accuse us of stupidity. In order not to find errors, you must be a Muslim. If you are not, you just do not understand. Allah, once again, failed his own argument.

Allah can have a son. (Surah 39:4)

Allah can’t have a son. (Surah 6:101)
“Allah can have a son.” “Allah can’t have a son.” Can and Can’t are Antonyms. The definition of an Antonym Is a word that expresses a meaning opposed to the meaning of another word, in which case the two words are antonyms of each other. In other words Can and Can’t is a perfect contradiction. Can’t is a contraction of cannot. Therefore “Allah can have a son” contradicts Allah can’t (can not) have a son".
Its like saying I am Egyptian by birth But lived all my life in Canada . Yes i am an Egyptian by birth and yes people will consider me canadian because all my life and family work and bieng raised in canada . ( for example)

There is no contradiction here .
Of course there are no contradictions in your statement. It would become a contradiction if you stated it as “I am Egyptian by birth but lived in Canada”, and " I am not Egyptian for I grew up in Canada my whole life".

Am and Am Not are contradictions, in your case your ethic background is Egyptian and your physical home of record where you reside and resided your whole life would be Canada, in other words you are an Egyptian Canadian. Others could say they’re Japanese American, Japanese who reside in America or were born in America, but are of Japanese heritage. So the KORAN has many contradictions. The only way to correct some errors would be to completely erase them out, and “Allah can have a son. Allah can’t have a son.” is a perfect example of that.

Well said. I expect ‘can’ and ‘can not’ is not a problem simply because someone can’t properly interpret the Koran:D
