I agree. I also think that Seinfeld has a finacial interest in how this pans out.

This show is in syndication and if its trashed due to this event----

He did make it clear he did not approve of this “horrible” mistake, and I hope its genuine and not because he fears finacial losses…
Hehehe, I don’t think Seinfeld has to worry about “financial losses”
I can only hope for such “worries”! 😃

LOL!!!
I do not see religion as a role in everything…I guess you do.
That’s b/c I read everything, including Catholic newspapers, I belong to The Catholic League in which we defend other Catholics and I watch the news a lot.
Every one knows there is a lot of Catholic bashing everywhere. I also have a relative who works with a very prestigious law firm, which is the Thomas More law firm in which they stand up for religious freedom (mostly Catholic). They constantly are engaged in war with the ACLU, so I know what I am talking about…

Sorry, but if you really have to ask…you need to maybe read more about what’s going on in the world and about your faith…
Dear Bella,

I personally think Karin is very knowledgable on the faith. Lets not go there.🙂

no apology needed. you don’t get to just say whatever the heck you want and then apologize later. if that were the case people would fly off the handle all the time and just say sorry later.

saying sorry without your own merit is pointless. he needs to keep his apology and just deal with his consequences however they may come about.

could careless about Michael Richards and his hateful speech. that’s his problem not the “Black community” we need to find better things to dwell on as opposed to “Kramer” and his ignorant rants.

. Mel Gibson was torured by saying something he shouldn’t have, in private to one person.
The Jews were all over him for it. But now it is turned around and coming from somebody Jewish, well we’ll see how much publicity this one gets.

If.
you cannot use a global general phrase like “the Jews” to mean the response to a certain event by certain Jews. The remarks were offensive because of their content, not because of the religion or ethnicity of the person who made the remarks. The justifiable indignation expressed can properly come from a member of the group who was directly insulted, or by anyone else of good feeling.

and sometimes calling a black or African Ameriacn a racial slur is just that…a racial slur…nothing more and nothing less. But if you want to read into this that it is a RELIGIOUS issue than by all means go for it!🙂

You know what really bothers me?

There is no one out there who would disagree with the use of the “N” word being wrong. But how many times a day do we hear people on radio or TV or in regular life use the name of Jesus as a slur? How many times do we hear people say “Oh my God” with NO respect, but as an expletive?

That’s what bothers me the most.

Karin, religon plays a major role in everything. From politics to wars to poverty. Kramer made a racial slur, coming from a Jew, is no less correct than Mel Gibson. But you miss the point on anything I say anyway. What happened to Catholics defending Catholics??

so you think the difference is that one is a jew and the other is a catholic that is why the different treatment ?
Could it be that slurs against jews are more offensive in society than slurs against blacks? At least that is how I see it!
Actually, I didn’t say why there was a difference, although there clearly is one.

In terms of your second conclusion, aren’t you basically saying what you think I’m saying?

And, just for arguments sake, why should slurs against blacks be more acceptable than slurs against Jews (at least by your reasoning)? Is that something you are advocating as being a correct stance? I ask since you brought it up.

And is should bother you. However, there are persons of a certain political bent who think that you have absolutely no right to be bothered.

Guess which political bent?

Yes he should… but he has apologized. Now then… where is the apology from all the black comedians that use the term ‘cracker’?
Have you seen the segment? It was a direct hit on the black people. I don’t think you could justify what he said at all. He may have apologized on The Late Show, but he needs to apologize to the black people. period.

Michael Richards, also known as “Kramer” on Seinfeld, was on stage at The Comedy Connection the other night and was filmed and heard stating how the N word toward blacks are horrible people. Mr. Richards is Jewish, and kept saying “N-----” and said " 50 years ago, we would of shoved a fork up you". Several black people had walked out of the show and were disgusted. The whole scene is on TMZ.com
Now when the Jewish people made a stink over Mel Gibson’s supposed anti-semitic remark, they just tortured him for an apology. Even when he gave it, it was not enough.
The Comedy Connection invited Mr. Richards back on Saturday to apologize in which he didn’t.
The Nation of Islam was on television this morning demanding an apology. We’ll see how this one goes, and he was sober…
Michael Richards isn’t Jewish, I know it appears so because he was on Seinfeld, but he’s actualy Italian and I believe raised Catholic.

It’s hard for Kramer to come to terms with the loss of his rather pitiful career. It’s also hard for Seinfeld to realize that Kramer is cooked. Actually, I never liked Seinfeld and only watch parts of a couple of episodes. I see enough self serving emptiness in real life. I don’t need to watch it on TV.

Michael Richards IS Jewish. That is exactly the point on FOX and the Today show…are you alright?

Am I alright? What are you talking about? Or was that just an attempt to insult me for no reason?

Anyway can you provide a link to back that up? Everything I heard about him was he is an Italian American who lived in a commune or something after Vietnam.

You’re claiming he’s Jewish, I’m simply asking for soemthing to back that up because I haven’t been able to find anything to verify that.
