Okay. I’ve been debating all day whether I should jump back after last night, but bella5110’s latest comment is just too much:
I Am Glad That Valke Has Brainwashed Half Of This Thread. Michael Richards Is Not Repeat Not A Catholic.
Think People, If He Were, It Would Be All Over The News.
I just did a quick check. Richards’ antics are on the front page of the entertainment section at the websites of MSNBC, ABCNews, CBSNews, FoxNews, and the
New York Times.
And it was all over CNN yesterday morning. In short, it
is all over the news. Whether Richards is still Catholic, was raised Catholic but no longer identifies as such, or never was Catholic seems beside the point. In any case, Valke2 has not been pressing the issue of Richards’ Catholicism or non-Catholicism; he’s simply referred back to a claim made in a source that someone else mentioned. He
certainly hasn’t made any disparaging remarks about Catholicism in this thread.
Remember, it was
bella5110 who raised the religion question in the opening post of this thread:
Michael Richards, also known as “Kramer” on Seinfeld, was on stage at The Comedy Connection the other night and was filmed and heard stating how the N word toward blacks are horrible people. Mr. Richards is Jewish, and kept saying “N-----” and said " 50 years ago, we would of shoved a fork up you". Several black people had walked out of the show and were disgusted. The whole scene is on
TMZ.com
Now when the Jewish people made a stink over Mel Gibson’s supposed anti-semitic remark, they just tortured him for an apology. Even when he gave it, it was not enough.
The Comedy Connection invited Mr. Richards back on Saturday to apologize in which he didn’t.
The Nation of Islam was on television this morning demanding an apology. We’ll see how this one goes, and he was sober…
Saint_Michael questioned whether Richards is in fact Jewish, as bella5110 claimed:
Michael Richards isn’t Jewish, I know it appears so because he was on Seinfeld, but he’s actualy Italian and I believe raised Catholic.
The question wasn’t exactly treated with kindness or respect, though all Saint_Michael did was ask for documentation for bella5110’s claim. Given that she’s the one who raised the religion question and suggested that it’s somehow significant, it surely isn’t unreasonable to ask her to back up her claim. Instead, all we get is assertion:
Michael Richards IS Jewish. That is exactly the point on FOX and the Today show…are you alright?
She repeatedly rebuffs all requests for documentation, insults Saint_Michael, and finally simply refuses to talk with him anymore. All she has to say on the matter is that Saint_Michael should check out the link Peter DeMitri provided:
Too bad. Peter is a good Catholic. Catholics stand up for one another…why don’t you go on the link provided “Saint”? The one Peter has posted from Fox, then you can come back terribly embarrassed.
I
did check the link provided, and was aghast. It’s a link to a virulently racist site. I commented on that, and on the site’s inaccuracy, in post #91.
Good Catholic or not, Peter posted a link to a tremendously bad, and demonstrably inaccurate, site. It’s he who should be embarrassed for posting the link, and bella5110 should be, too—for supporting it in the way she does in the quote just above.
Amazingly, I’ve yet to see either Peter or bella so much as acknowledge that the site is racist, let alone apologize for posting it here as a resource suitable for verifying someone’s religious affiliation.
I’ve also yet to see bella either back down from her assertion that Richards is Jewish, or provide credible evidence that he is. I haven’t seen her respond to Karin’s post #127, either.
Is linking to racist websites (that was Peter, not bella), refusing to answer civilly when a fellow poster asks a reasonable question, and ignoring posts that provide evidence suggesting you may be wrong standard behavior in this forum?
