Oh, I thought you were ignoring me?
you’re right. I have to apologize for being weak enough to take you off ignore. I’m like one of those people who slow down to look at a car accident and then regret it later. Won’t happen again. The problem is that while I put you on ignore, other people quote you when they reply to your attacks.

I don’t understand it. I turned on CNN at 7:15 am and they were talking about the Kramer incident. I guess the liberal jewish media is really dropping the ball. I’ll have to bring this up at the next meeting.

Karin, religon plays a major role in everything. From politics to wars to poverty. Kramer made a racial slur, coming from a Jew, is no less correct than Mel Gibson. But you miss the point on anything I say anyway. What happened to Catholics defending Catholics??
I don’t understand why it matters that Kramer is Jewish.

He could be the High Priest of the Purple Polkadot Brigade for all I care.

His tirade was offensive though to African Americans, and would of been offensive if a Jew did it, or a Catholic, or a Muslim, or a Baptist and the list goes on.

I was offended, and I am white.

So he is having a screaming row with a couple of loud mouthed oafs is my understanding of it…no one is being nice so lets abuse each other skin colour, hair do, fashion sense, parentage, possible sexual orientation, achievements in life, birth, name, nose you name it lets abuse it because they are angry at each other…thats what happens…ugly abusive foul mouthed…were both parties arrested for being a public nuisance, affray, causing fear in public.

If they had been a couple of derroes in an alley would anyone have cared?

And by the way Valke, I thought the way the Jews handled Mel Gibson was dispicable b/c he already apologized but that wasn’t enough. If he hadn’t made The Passion, he’d be just another drunk. It is what it is.

Some people cannot handle the truth.
bella do u really think that the Jews complained about Mel’s drunken error because he made the Passion ???

do u think they thought they had a good chance of getting back at him ???

couldn’t they have just been honestly offended and justifiably so ???

and they would of known who he was, an actor, drunk or not

I believe he insulted others as well…and I was surpised at the vile things he said…he apologised but I truly think the guys become ‘ill’ his apology was rambling and didn’t seem to make sense.

Not only did the Jews crucify Mel Gibson while he made The Passion of The Christ, as soon as they had the chance when he made those remarks, they were all over him. When he apologized several times unmercifully, they STILL wouldn’t accept it. It was just another way to get back at him for the making of this movie. Don’t you people know anything that is happening? Or is it you only know Scripture and Catechist rules. Perhaps you need to go on the site The Catholic League, and read the awful stories people are doing to the Catholics. Read the newspapers, do something…

By the way, I don’t need to answer your questions, I only have to answer to God.
So the Jews hounded Mel AFTER his apology to get back at him for the Passion?

But Mel’s comment was “Jews are responsible for all the wars”.

I would think blaming WW2 which led to the Holocaust on the Jews would far outweigh a movie.

I would think his actual comment is what made the Jewish community hound him even after he apologized.

I saw the video and some of it appeared as if he was pacing the stage answering voices in his head

It was rather weird

BELLA-

Guess what…YOU ARE WRONG
RICHARDS IS NO MORE A JEW THAN YOU:)

**Michael Richards is not a Jew. **
As Cosmo Kramer in “Seinfeld,” Richards played one on TV. But he himself is not Jewish – not that there’s anything wrong with that.
SOURCE

and here is another tid-bit for ya…

**Confusion over Richards’ heritage grew after the Anti-Defamation League issued a press release Monday denouncing the actor’s tirade.

**“Richards’ repeated use of the ‘n-word’ and apparent reference to lynching is offensive in any context. There is no excuse for such insensitive and bigoted language. It has no place in a comedy club and no place in America and must be clearly repudiated,” the release said.

“We hope Mr. Richards will now take a public stand against appeals to racism and bigotry and publicly apologize for his poor judgment in shouting them from the stage.”

The release did not address Richard’s own religion. In the past, the ADL has regularly taken public stances against instances of racism unrelated to anti-Semitism

Thanks for that post Karin. He’s Catholic, according to that article. No one in their right mind would blame the Church or Catholics for his tirade.

welcome Valke2…no one should blame anybody but Richards for HIS outbursts!

Just a technical point that has nothing to do with anything. But the character of Kramer was not Jewish either. Wasn’t there an episode where Kramer steals a baby to prevent it from being snipped at the bris?

who knows…I never watched the show:)

Here is a huge problem I have. Black, Hispanic, and Asian comics poke fun at white people all the time, and it is considered funny. If we do it to them it is racist. Someone in the audience called him a cracker. Why is there no outcry over that?
He didn’t just call the heckler a racist name. He said that it was too bad it wasn’t 50 years ago when the (Black) guy could be hung and then have an object shoved in an unmentionable place. I watched the tirade and it was clearly not a “joke” gone wrong. If he had just made a sorry joke there would not be this mess.

No one in the audience brought up race until the rant started from the stage. Responding to that repeated N-word tirade with one anonymous audience member yelling back “cracker” is not going to get the same attention for good reason. The original heckler just yelled that his friend didn’t think the show was funny. Richards started the racial insults and brought up lynching which is way beyond just poking fun at a group of people (no matter who is doing the poking who the receiving).

Did anyone see on the Today show that the two guys want to be compensated for the racial insults that Richards hurled at them?

I think THAT is just ridiculous. When it was pointed out that Richard’s career is pretty much ruined & he did apologize… isn’t that enough… they said NO. The attorney representing them agreed. Basically it’s now… Show me the money.

I think what Richard’s said was awful… but I don’t think anyone in the audience needs to receive “compensation” for it. I’m often offended by comedians… or people in general. When Matt Lauer (sp?) brought up free speech both guys said they thought there should be limits to free speech.

Oh brother. 😦

becuase you and others dared to ask it…how dare you question the lovely conspiracy theory that some have:rolleyes:
You hit it on the head Karin. Its a conspiracy theory. In essence a conspiracy theory is something people contrive to mask their venom for a peron or a group of people. Its real intention is to convince others to cast doubt and to subtly (or not so subtly) get others to question the integrity of another.

It usually falls flat on its face each and everytime.

Can anyone say “Da Vinci Code”??

The people that fall for this stuff dont need much more than one persons word for how “things REALLY are” with all kinds of claims that are not backed up credibly.

Then if you pipe up and say-- wait a minute! Stop that!

They tell you smugly you are merely misinformed and have been hiding under a rock all your life…

Yes. I saw it while sitting in one of those crummy quick oil change places.
It was actually a very funny show that particular episode. He wigged out.

Karin, bella is not going to believe she is wrong based on your citation.

Think about why…

Consider your Source for your citation…

I am merely speculating now, and that’s only fair to do it seems on this thread!😛

Just to recap:

Bella: “Now when the Jewish people made a stink over Mel Gibson’s supposed anti-semitic remark, they just tortured him for an apology. Even when he gave it, it was not enough.”

I didn’t really address this earlier because I figured, what’s the point? But I hope the antisemitism expressed in that post was obvious to everyone. What’s with the “supposed” and “tortured” language. Aside from everything else, its a lie. Gibson apologized before the transcripts of this arrest were even released, if I recall.

Bella: “The Jews were all over him for it. But now it is turned around and coming from somebody Jewish, well we’ll see how much publicity this one gets.”

I think this has gotten a lot of publicity. And it looks as if Mr. Richards is Catholic, not Jewish. I’m sure that for someone like bella, that will be the reason it got media coverage.

Bella: “There goes Valke, trying to gain pity for the Jewish people…give me a break, and Michael Richards IS Jewish. I did not use this for justification of my favorite actor, but to show you that you are not always the victim.”

Well, it does appear that this misrepresentation WAS used as a sort of twisted justification for bella’s favorite actor. And, btw, saying that Jews take the position that they are always the victim, is just another way of attacking jews.

Bella: “Not only did the Jews crucify Mel Gibson while he made The Passion of The Christ, as soon as they had the chance when he made those remarks, they were all over him. When he apologized several times unmercifully, they STILL wouldn’t accept it.”

Crucify? I don’t think this needs further comment.

Bella: “Mel-Catholic- The Passion of The Christ
Kramer-Jew- Deplorable, despicable, degrading in public, on tv, sober. Wasn’t genuinely sorry as said on the networks. Now Mel was wrong also, but in Mel’s case he was ridiculed and tormented by The Jewish faith. Kramer was not.”

There’s only one conclusion that any jew who read these posts would come to.

Michael Richards made a racist, bigoted comment that anyone with any moral compass whatsoever found reprehensible. What is also reprehensible was how quickly people like bella tried to use this event to attack Jews.

I am so confused. I have heard here, and elsewhere he is Jewish. Then I go look at wikipedia and it says he was raised Catholic…but right now he is part of the Masons…is he still Catholic then? Ugh. It shouldn’t be this hard to find out what his religion is. Not that it’s really any of my business though:rolleyes: .
