Gopi Krishna was considered one of the foremost experts on this subject, and claims he went through such a K awakening without a Yoga master.
He tried to explain this type of awakening as a biological and evolutionary process. Yet, he went through this terrible experience after, and while doing Yoga meditation for many years. He also says that it should not be attempted without a Yoga master as it can be very dangerous, and yet, he claims that in his day there were not any qualified masters in India to guide such an aspirant. He thinks mystics, mediums, creative geniuses, saints, and people with mental illness have their origins of experience due to some sort of the K-awakening.
He also states that many claim to have gone through this ‘awakening’, but have only experienced a minor part of such awakening, and are more than likely on some sort of ego trip.
He also explains this K ‘awakening’ as having it historical roots in the pagan god(s) and goddess(es) of India who have similarities to the god(s) and goddes(es) of the ancient Babylonian religion.
Reading his autobiography of his K- awakening is thoroughly distressing, and not particularly inspiring, except for his honest reporting of his experience.
If the foremost expert on this ‘awakening’ thinks it is dangerous, why would anyone want to get involved with it? If the foremost expert on this subject acknowleges the Hindu goddess behind it’s origins, why would a person of Christian faith want to be involved with it? Can we be sure it is simply a biological/ spinal and brain based spiritual experience as Gopi Krishna attempts to prove?
It seems to me that this K-awakening is either a mental illness undiagnosed, a New Age delusion, or worse, a dangerous deception by the enemy of our souls.
May God have mercy on our wayward souls.
