Podo2005:
And by saying that we need more adoration isn’t right, we have enough.
Isn’t that for Jesus to decide?

. . . now with regard to indult, the priest doesnt need an indult if he is going to celebrate it privately . . .
Documentation, please?

Also, is it really accurate to say that the so-called “Tridentine Mass” is 1500 years old, as opposed to the “modern” Mass? Doesn’t the Church, in fact, consider the current Missa Normativa to simply be a revision of the Mass that the Roman Church has always celebrated?

In other words, who gets to decide when a legitimate, organic development has occurred? Joe-Schmoe priest/layperson, or the Church?

Granted, the Normative Mass, as celebrated in most parishes, does not represent an organic development of the liturgy, but an abomination that would have been unthinkable to every Catholic of previous generations. But is this to say that the Normative Missal is, in itself, a break from Tradition and not a legitimate development of the 1570 Missal, as these reforms were begun under Saint Pius X?

I would rather attend a Latin Mass. Why? I am sick and tired of “Pop” Masses: Raise the hands during the Lord’s Prayer, “Feel Good” Pop music sung by nasal-intoned young adults, guitars, pianos, etc. Organs gathering dust bunnies in the corner. Mass around here is getting to be more of a love-in rather than a respectful, reverent, reflective experience. Oh, and I am not an old grey-haired person. In my fifties, yes, but no where near part of a dying breed.

I attend a NO Mass in my parish and it is not a “Pop” Mass. It is a very reverent Mass.

For Pete’s sake, can we stop using that damned phrase “Latin Mass” for “Tridentine Mass” and instead use proper terminology? Thanks.

I meant no harm by saying “Latin Mass”. Didn’t mean to put anybody in an uproar. Just cool down!

Timeo ut ritus antiquus late celebretur. Christi Ecclesia nobis asylum erit?

Haec conlocutio acerba fieri saepe potest ergo evigilate “quia caritas ex Deo est” etenim “universa delicta operit caritas”.

You fear that the ancient rite is widely celebrated? The Church of Christ is a place of refuge for us?

“Latin Mass” is NOT a “damned phrase”! It IS an ambiguous phrase - for an (authorized) “Latin Mass” may be celebrated in either the 1962 Liturgy (with an Indult from the local Ordinary), or in the 1969 Liturgy - as a local priest may do as he wills.

The term “Tridentine Mass” is a no-brainer!

<< One of the biggest reasons I support a Latin Mass (N.O. or 1962) is that it works against the fractionalization of the Church. English Mass, Spanish Mass, Vietnamese Mass, Tagalog Mass, Laotian Mass, etc. These break up a parish into separate tribes. Mass should be uniting, not divisive. >>

I think that sums up my feeling on this subject better then I have ever been able to express them.

Thanks for posting that VociMike.

<<As to remembering the TLM I had someone tell me that their “soul” remembered the TLM and it sang when they attended the first time. I thought that was a wonderful feeling.>>

I often cry during the Kyrie because it moves me. I saw the above and it made me put two and two together. I long for something that was taken from me before my birth. I know there has to be a loviong God, if something like that can happen to me.
