Laura is a breath of fresh air. As a convert, she puts many of the craddle Catholics who are commentators to shame.
You got that right!! I think she is great!!! I watch and listen to her when I can. She doesn’t pull any punches. She hits it spot on every time!!Laura is a breath of fresh air. As a convert, she puts many of the craddle Catholics who are commentators to shame.
True Catholics cannot leave the Church because Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ created the Church to continue His teaching through all time. He is the Catholic Church and to leave the Church is to leave Jesus Christ Himself!Excellent. Many Catholics are leaving the church rather than simply ignore what they don’t agree with. I see it a lot in my own family, sadly.
I think it was mentioned that it was the Pope who ‘closed the cafeteria’, not Ms. Ingraham.I don’t want Laura’s food anyway. She can close her cafeteria.![]()
Quite true. And Miss Ingrahm is in complete agreement.I think it was mentioned that it was the Pope who ‘closed the cafeteria’, not Ms. Ingraham.
I am a huge fan of hers & listen to her radio show daily. I’m a convert, too & Laura makes me proud! In regard to the book, Laura Ingraham didn’t write " Guilty." That was Ann Coulter. Laura wrote “Power To The People” & “Shut Up & Sing.”Go Miss Ingram! I saw the original interview and she was great. Get hew r book “Guilty” nand see what she says about the the classic liberal causes like “single mothers”.
In a sense, this is true. The Church has always been beset by those of her members who are sure they know more about the Faith than those charged with teaching and guarding it. She probably always will have in this age.Cafeteria closed? It’s no more closed today than it was last month. Mark this post and come back to it in a year and let me know how it’s going.

VC2 wasn’t the problem, it was the perversion of VC2, that swung the cafeteria doors wide open. From the Simon Sez hand gestures, and the “round of applause” for the musicians and dancing girls during the Good Friday noon to 3PM services, to the CCD teaching kids Jesus was “represented” in the Eucharist and the confirmandi being clueless as to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Roman Catholic Church, in the name of ecumenicism has been transformed in many dioceses, into just another Christian sect.In a sense, this is true. The Church has always been beset by those of her members who are sure they know more about the Faith than those charged with teaching and guarding it. She probably always will have in this age.
The closed cafeteria is rather like drunk driving. No one really approved of it, but I can remember a time when, if someone was convicted, the first response was, “bad luck.” That has changed; I remember when it changed, and it was a surprisingly rapid change. It became a very socially unacceptable thing, along with being illegal, and no one, for a long time, has thought in terms of, “bad luck.”
Perhaps there was a time when being a cafeteria Catholic was considered daring, progressive, trendy, thoughtful or whatever. But just as “dissident” is now recognized as a mere euphemism for “heretic,” the cafeteria approach, outside those who espouse it (just as there are some who continue to drink and drive, no matter what, even if they lose their driver’s license) is viewed askance now. In that sense, the cafeteria is closed. Really, from an ecclesiastical governance point of view, it was NEVER OPENED. Although many point to Vatican II as the basis for it, nothing in the Council documents justifies their nonsense in the slightest degree.
Blessings,
Gerry
Doh! :doh2: Thanks for the correction. I think Ann Coulter is also Catholic, by the way.I am a huge fan of hers & listen to her radio show daily. I’m a convert, too & Laura makes me proud! In regard to the book, Laura Ingraham didn’t write " Guilty." That was Ann Coulter. Laura wrote “Power To The People” & “Shut Up & Sing.”![]()
Indeed. The perversion usually goes by the name “Spirit of Vatican II.” It has to be a disembodied spirit, though, because it has nothing to do with the corpus of work of the Council.VC2 wasn’t the problem, it was the perversion of VC2, that swung the cafeteria doors wide open.
She’s not a spokesperson for the Catholic Church. However, I would much rather hear her speaking about the Catholic faith than others in the public eye i.e. Pelosi, Biden, Kennedy’s (pick any one of them). I cringe when that happens. Sorry, but I just can’t think of anyone in the public eye of the liberal persuasion putting forth anything but misconceptions and untruths about Church teachings. I’m glad to have her as one of us, sorry you are not a fan, though not in the least bit surprised. While she may be correct, since when did Laura Ingraham become the Catholic Church spokesperson? I can’t stand her voice, actually.
No, Ann’s dad was Catholic and she is Christian but not Catholic.Doh! :doh2: Thanks for the correction. I think Ann Coulter is also Catholic, by the way.
She does not claim to be a spokesperson and she has faithful Catholics represent church issues, unlike some other Catholic hosts that shall remain nameless. While she may be correct, since when did Laura Ingraham become the Catholic Church spokesperson? I can’t stand her voice, actually.
