What’s wrong with having concubines? Solomon had 300 of them, so three is pretty moderate in comparison 😉
I’m sure that argument would be made. Considering it further, I suppose the concubines might not raise an eyebrow. But if he were lobbying for big oil in his off duty time or publicly advocating against gay marriage, that might get him fired.

Touché!

I thought that the thread was a about morals clause and an attempt to classify all teachers as ministers, not about what teachers must teach in their classes.
They are not being classified as ministers, they are being classified as teachers. And as such, teachers in a Catholic school teach Truth, as revealed to the Catholic Church.

But since Christ Himself is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, all Truth, by necessity, draws from Christ.

Ergo, all Truth leads back to Him.

So what we are talking about is a Catholic bishop ensuring that all Catholic schools under his jurisdiction accept that Truth and act upon it.

In other words, this should really not be news to any one.

I was impressed with the AB’s response. It went straight to the hypocrisy of the request. No, a democrat would not keep a Republican staffer that was active in the Republican party on their off time. Professional sports officials are fired if they are found to be betting on the other games. Yet somehow these politicians are blind to the ridiculous nature of their request. They are truly blind to the issue, having been given over to a reprobate mind.

Employees of Catholic K-12 schools in San Francisco—and elsewhere—have always been expected to support Catholic teachings on faith and morals. It is a condition of employment—and nothing new. The archbishop is simply reminding employees of this by explicitly stating that administrators, faculty and staff members are not to visibly contradict, undermine or deny Catholic teachings on the Truth of the evil of abortion and euthanasia, and the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman.

This should be uncontroversial.
