I certainly understand “the Mormon” mind better from the discussion here, in a safe environment, and therefore have more forgiveness for those who have done me wrong.
I understand your contention that how a person reads the BOM is dependent upon the condition of their soul. (You use the term “winnowing souls”.) However, I believe that scripture should be a guide to pleasing God better. And given how many people seem to have used the BOM to justify evil, by that token, (and conclusive proof as to the sources) I can only accept the BOM as creative fiction, and a product of 1830 America.
