I mean those twinkies that look fresh on a dish for a long long time, long after the whoppers are gone.
Twinkies scare me, Whoppers do not.
Wonder if there is any analogy to this topic…
Hostess is experiencing a great apostasy and a falling away, causing the loss of plain and precious baked goods? Powdered Donuts testify that Little Debbie is the true baker of overly preserved treats.

Impossible Nabisco has no raspberry zingers or even twinkies, which my MIL insists should have banana filling.
Zingers are Reformed Twinkies, containing some measure of truth, but not all. Don’t let the flashy outside of a zinger fool you.

I’m thinking there is going to be a huge surplus of bakers caps, aprons, and other white clothing available 😃

Uh. The world will be ending soon. Hostess is no more. Where will my twinkies and ding dongs come from? 😦

Fat, how do you know what is doctrine in the LDS church…where does one go to get the alpha and omega of LDS doctrine?

I’ve heard this over and over since I signed up for CAF. What is and what is not LDS doctrine is confusing even to current LDS members and ex-members of your church. It’s even more confusing looking from the outside in, from someone that never was a Mormon.

Good news: on these words alone we agree…
The Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price.

When there is new doctrine or changes or new revelations it is give to the prophet, he councils with this councilors and in unity agree whether or not this is a right change or understanding. They then present it to the Council of the Twelve apostles. They have to all agree, no can disagree. Then it is presented on down the line of authority until it is presented to the general membership of the church. It is then voted on by the general membership as to whether or not this is going to be a binding law or doctrine. If someone votes in the negative, it is not binding on them. These people are interview to get the reasons why. Questions are asked answers given. If the still want to vote negative, that is their right. It then becomes part of the doctrine and canon of scriptures. The God being a man, or heavenly mother has never been even addressed or presented. We do not know enough to do so. So it is a teaching. It is not binding on us as doctrine.

So you guys vote on what is doctrine and what is not? The prophets are only right if you say they are?

This for you Fat,
A.God used to be a man on another planet, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321; Joseph Smith, Times and Seasons, vol. 5, p. 613-614; Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses, vol. 2, p. 345; Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 333).
B.“The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s…” (D&C 130:22).
C.God is in the form of a man, (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 3).
D.“God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!!! . . . We have imagined that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea and take away the veil, so that you may see,” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345).
E.God the Father had a Father, (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 476; Heber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses, vol. 5, p. 19; Milton Hunter, First Council of the Seventy, Gospel through the Ages, p. 104-105).
F.God resides near a star called Kolob, (Pearl of Great Price, p. 34-35; Mormon Doctrine, p. 428).
G.God had sexual relations with Mary to make the body of Jesus, (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 4, 1857, p. 218; vol. 8, p. 115). - This one is disputed among many Mormons and not always ‘officially’ taught and believed. Nevertheless, Young, the 2nd prophet of the Mormon church taught it.
H.“Therefore we know that both the Father and the Son are in form and stature perfect men; each of them possesses a tangible body . . . of flesh and bones.” (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 38).

Whats with the “its not doctrine” but yet your so called prophet spoke of it . If you dont know your own church history perhaps you should study it more. Maybe then the truth will open your eyes and your heart friend. Ill pray for you 🙂
Perhaps you missed what I have said about twenty times, okay a few. It was a teaching. It was a talk given by Joseph Smith. It is not doctrine that is binding on us as a people. And Brigham Young never said that Mary had sex with God. And I believe that God has a body of Flesh and bone as tangible as mans although it is glorified and perfect like his only begotten Son who was resurrected into his. And I have spent years studying my faith. And did you come up with all these things by your self? You are amazing.

So if someone disagrees on doctrine…can one say then that this doctrine was also an abomination coming from a Mormon???

Where’s the beef!!!

How can your abomination be any different than our abomination?

Where is then true doctrine???

Where IS the beef!..I mean the true doctrine!!

No we vote on whether it is binding on us as doctrine. We are give free agency to choose. It would make sense that we vote in the positive since it was given through a prophet, but we don’t have to do this, and some haven’t.

The doctrine is found in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price.
