That’s ‘Nationalism’ for you. Undemocratic, cannot accept outcome of the referendum:

**Leader of Scottish Tories claims ‘burly blokes’ are blocking voters at polling station as police warn of ‘threatening behaviour’ by Nationalists
Police are investigating allegations ‘burly blokes’ believed to be backing the SNP have turned away voters from a Scottish polling station because they were not Nationalists.
Leader of the Scottish Tories Ruth Davidson has said two members of the public complained of intimidation while trying to vote in Annan in Dumfries and Galloway.
It came as police also issued a Scotland-wide warning amid fears of ‘threatening behaviour’ from firebrand SNP supporters.**
Mrs Davidson tweeted: ‘Disturbing reports of people being turned away from an Annan polling station by burly blokes if they say they don’t support a certain party’.
A Conservative source told MailOnline she is believed to be talking about Nicola Sturgeon’s SNP party - but said Davidson did not witness the incident.
A spokesman for the Scottish Conservatives said: 'Two members of the public complained to us regarding a situation at Newington Sports and Leisure Polling Station in Annan.
‘We have passed on their complaint to the electoral registration officer at the council and have spoken to Police Scotland. We take all such reports seriously and always pass on the relevant information.’
MailOnline has contacted the SNP to comment while Police Scotland and Dumfries & Galloway Council said they are currently looking into the allegations.
**It came as nationalists who believe that last year’s referendum was rigged in favour of the ‘No’ campaign urged people to photograph their votes and covertly watch election officials.
The campaign, called Operation Scallop, has been widely shared across Facebook and Twitter because some SNP members fear their votes will be torn up, changed or not counted.
Organisers also say that supporters should vote in the last hour - between 9pm and 10pm - and then ‘hang about outside’ and ‘take photos of anything suspicious’ as the papers are loaded into vans.**
They should then use their own transport to trail ballot boxes when they leave polling stations and follow them to the count and watch them being unloaded, it says.

**Thuggery, intimidation, and now paranoia – the Scottish radicals threatening democracy
POLICE in Scotland have issued a nationwide warning highlighting the risk of further ballot box aggression and intimidation from thuggish advocates of Scottish nationalism.
Just days ago the SNP suspended two ringleaders of a violent protest against Labour candidates on walkabout in Glasgow – forcing a rally hosted by Eddie Izzard to be abandoned.
Now anonymous Scottish nationalists, who claim that last year’s independence referendum was rigged, have launched an online campaign to ensure that their votes are not tampered with.**
The bizarre campaign, dubbed Operation Scallop, urges nationalists to wait until the final hour of polling before casting their vote – then secretly follow ballot boxes and election officials to count centres.
An advice sheet circulating on Twitter and Facebook reads: "If you recognise a van from your polling station try to record the time it arrives with a photo."
It also tells voters to photograph their ballot paper – but warns that “you must not share the photo until the count”.
Yesterday the Electoral Commission warning that voters could be jailed for sharing photos taken in polling booths…
**After the earlier violence in Glasgow Nicola Sturgeon insisted those involved “weren’t acting on behalf of the SNP” – but she suspended two of the ringleaders from the party.
James Scott and Piers Doughty-Brown have repeatedly targeted Labour politicians at public engagements.**
Nationalist MSP Sandra White claimed that there were no party members involved in the protest that forced the Labour team to flee in a getaway car.

I heard Labour were ahead in the polls! (sorry, I am still going Tory). I don’t want SNP running Scotland either.

No problem, I cast my vote for Labour earlier this morning 👍 😃

In my constituency its a battleground, as it is throughout Scotland, between the SNP and Labour. The former are widely expected to trounce Labour for the first time ever. A vote for Tory would be a wasted vote in my area, anyway. (BTW don’t let your fellow Americans hear your a ‘Tory,’ I believe it means something unpatriotic over there 😉 ).

The SNP include some rabid Nationalists: real, paranoid zealots for their cause who care more about their utopian vision for a nationalist and socialist Scotland than they do for the procedures of democracy.

Even after losing the referendum last year and promising that it was a “once in a generation event”, the SNP is still intent on getting another one, refusing to say it won’t. This is a slap in the face to democracy.

No worries, I had little doubt in my mind you would vote Labour. Lost cause in my mind. 😉 I am resigned to them winning but I REALLY hope it doesn’t happen.

And yes, I did hear and do expect SNP to DESTROY Labour in Scotland, blood bath. I have no use whatsoever for SNP; I think they are nuts (sorry I am being blunt and not giving substance to back this up; I am in a hurry).

I am not enthralled with the Tories either - if it is any consolation you did weaken my enthusiasm for them quite a bit, just not enough to turn me.

FYI, we don’t study history in this country. Nobody knows what a Tory is anymore. I am a bit of a redcoat; I honestly don’t know why. In my fifth grade history class, studying the American Revolution no less, I remember thinking, now why did we want this revolution…? Never answered the question entirely. I’ve never shaken my mixed feelings on that. I am patriotic enough; by today’s standards I am a tea party zealot. 🙂

When we will hear the results? Have you heard anything? It just seems so close!

It is extremely close according to the polls. I honestly don’t know who is going to emerge with a government. I do think it will be a ‘hung’ parliament, that is no party will gain a majority. Either another coalition will have to be formed (the current one is a conservative/liberal democrat coalition) or we’ll have a labour/conservative minority government backed up by some confidence and supply scheme with other parties. I can’t call it.

The SNP will likely wipe out the other parties in Scotland.

The results will come in on a constituency-by-constituency (seat by seat) basis like elections in the U.S., since we have a similar first-past-the-post voting system. I imagine that by the early hours of tomorrow morning UK time the results should be clear. In the U.S. this will mean the evening for you guys, up to about 12 o’clock say. So you should probably hear by the end of the day. I don’t think I’ll stay up for the full count, too busy tomorrow 🙂

The exit poll predicts a big Tory lead and an SNP wipe out in Scotland. Very bad on both accounts, although expected

The Labour Party forced the Catholic adoption agencies to close because they would not give children to same sex couples, how do you vote for them as a Catholic?

Sorry, but I am relieved to hear of the Tory lead; hope it holds up through the night (or is it basically over? It sounds like it.). I expected SNP gains; agree that is bad. SNP in my view is divisive and doesn’t benefit Scotland or anybody else. Those types are gaining ground here too (they call themselves the Democrats) 😃 - joke fellow citizens, JOKING.

I can’t speak with a certainty but as for the leadership, I think I would rather have the UK’s. But it’s a bit complex. They appear to be doing well.

Just an update for those who don’t know:

Nobody expected Cameron to do this well. 👍
Since I was a Tory in the last election, I’m far less bothered with Cameron’s victory than I am about the fact that Scotland is now SNP dominated. Scotland and England are now poles apart politically. This is a nightmare for the Union. A Tory victory is miniscule compared to this unmitigated tragedy.

Yes, I actually agree. I was going to comment on that last night. Speaking from a country where are very very very polarized, trust me, it is a bad thing. But then I realized that the number of seats is very different, right, SNP has 56, Conservatives 331, Labour 232, so I am not clear how much real clout the SNP will have. It is sad to see Scotland and England at each other’s throats though. You are certainly not the only one caught in the middle. (I feel that way between my parties. 🙂 It’s called being “rational.” Lonely.)

What do you see SNP doing on a practical level? (day to day) Will they block things somehow?
