Dear Austin~
I am in just the reverse…and feel just the opposite. I believe for many “cradle” Catholics, the faith may be shallow…for any number of reasons. As a lifelong protestant (mainline and non-denominational) I was never encouraged to be “pro-Catholic”, nor pro-other denominations. I’ve learned as a Catholic that a major tenet is not to bash another’s faith (the first tenet in Judaism). I know too that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ, the Reformation…is man-made, along with all the denominations that have sprung from it. I don’t believe for a minute that other faiths are not about God; however, I wanted to worship and pray, not be entertained. I spent eight months in contemplative and meditative prayer before my heart was asked the question “why are you a Protestant Renee?” I could not give our Creator an answer. My issue with protestantism was that you can’t get any two to agree on one topic (i.e abortion, same sex marriage, etc.), and the sola scriptura concept… well dear one, I can only tell you how full of JOY I have been since coming home. You have been given some wonderful feedback here and I know that many of us are praying that you will make the decision God would have you make.
In, for, and with Christ…
