I like Led Zeppelin too.

BTW,does anyone get ticked off by people who wear band shirts but don’t know a song from the band?

Me:so i see you have a AC/DC, shirt you know any songs by them?

person:huh?

Me:you’re wearing a shirt from a rock band.

person: i liked it because it was cute.

me please get away from me.

I am so glad that someone besides ME is bugged by that, too!!! I have kids in my sixth grade class who come in with ACDC shirts and Zeppelin and Pink Floyd shirts. I ask them, “name me three songs they’ve written or just the name of two albums…”

reply? "uh, “TNT”…and I said, “I bet you heard that on Guitar Hero or something, right?”…pause…“yeah.”

They don’t know any of these bands from Adam. They just know this modern nonsense…

Imagine not having heard Dark Side of the Moon or Led Zeppeln IV or any of these classics? ay yay yay…

It’s like a generation of posers. People like to “pretend” everything. Instead of PLAYING a real guitar, they pretend they are with a dumb video game. Instead of getting into a band, they wear a shirt. Instead of drawing, they design everything with computers. This generation is a real bunch of pips LOL!

Yeah,as someone who was born in 1977 i remember when there was rock music on tv and radio. Wish 80’s rock/metal could make a comeback.

I was born in 75. God, I remember turning on MTV and seeing KISS, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ratt, and then all the “pop” groups I loved like the Police and The Cars…jeez…

All the progressive rock like Yes, Floyd, Rush…the Southern Rock like Skynyrd and 38 Special, the corporate rock bands like Journey, Styx, Boston, and Foreigner…

I think Nirvana and Pearl Jam and that god-awful Seattle grunge nonsense was the beginning of the end of it all for music…

Guns and Roses was like the LAST solid metal band that everyone respected…

Heck I remember as a kid liking Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, and heck…Cinderella and even Dokken and company! 😛

Yeah,i remember those groups,i even remember bands like Queensryche, and Motley Crue.

MTV used to show “Home Sweet Home” and “Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room” on a continuous loop that went on forever! 😃

I used to crack up at the “We’re Not Gonna Take It” video…

Dad: “what do you wannnnna doo with your liiiiiiiiife!!?”

son: “I wanna rock!” (hits chord that makes dad fly out the window…) 😛

You might be a guitarist if.

You stop right in the middle of a song because of a mistake that no one else noticed.

If you spend five hours in a guitar store looking at guitars.(No i want this one,or maybe this one,or this one)

If you suffer from GAS(Gear Acquistion Syndrome).

If you have more picks in your wallet than coins.

If you listen to a song and wonder how much better it will be when played on guitar.

The kids in my sixth grade class cracked up at me when the music teacher brought his guitar in (acoustic) and offered it to me to play. I didn’t miss a beat. I took out my pick from my wallet (one of a few) and the kids said, “are you kidding!? He has a pick in his wallet! What the heck?” I said to them, “what are you kidding? Were you actually thinking I’d go out in public ill-prepared for maximum guitar-tinkering!?” 😛

A musician friend of mine, Mario, and I go to Guitar Center and honestly we stayed in there forever. That’s where I fell in love with the Telecaster…of course I didn’t buy it there…too expensive! 😛

I’…the fact that the guy who sang Iron Man and Crazy Train is now doing commercials with Justin Bieber. 😛

Ozzy doing commercials with Bieber:eek:
What is the world coming to? :crying:

When I was a kid I thought Ozzy was soooo creepy and hardcore! I remember seeing “Shot in the Dark” video as a kid and thinking “oh man, that dude’s for real!” 😛 Seeing him look like a sorcerer or werewolf or madman, so tough. Then “The Osbournes” came out…oh man…henpecked by his wife, incoherent, drug-burned out, kids boss him around, dogs and cats leaving droppings in his bed, stuttering and stammering, all of a sudden Cliff Claven on “Cheers” seemed more Prince of Darknesslike than Ozzy! 😃
That is epic

I still think this Ozzy commercial is the GREATEST…from several years back…

That is a good one. I remember his one for World of Warcraft, which I thought was pretty funny.

As for band tees being sold at Target as a novelty shirt is just horrendous. I remember in high school when the kids wearing the Metallica and Led Zeppelin shirts were the ones that owned every album and read everything they could get their hands on. Now it’s just … well don’t get me started.

When Nirvana came on the scene I thought they were interesting, but then after that everything just turned to garbage. Then I came to detest Nirvana, but when Foo Fighters came out I got to like Dave Grohl’s music and everything I’ve read about him he seems to be a metalhead at heart. Has anybody heard his Probot album?

When I saw a kid at school wearing an “Iron Maiden” t-shirt, I was irked. The kid had NO CLUE who they were or that album…lame…

I was a HUGE Maiden fan in school so that struck me as poserism! 😛 I used to wear a t-shirt of Aces High with Eddie flying an RAF fighter, used to really tick off my teacher who already hated my guts…and when I noticed he hated it, I wore a Powerslave One and a Somewhere In Time t as well!😛

I used to have this tye-dyed blue Zep t-shirt with the Icarus/winged guy on it that I think I wore until it fell apart. I wish I still had it.

That’s their Swan-Song album label, Zep’s…you can still get those on Ebay or anywhere online…go check it out…

I remember too, when those who wore rock tees were those who listened to the albums. Back in the 80’s in maryland you’d see metalheads wearing shirts like Scorpions and who actually knew the band.
