They just know in their heart. They feel good about it. For solid sola scriptura types, it doesn’t contradict scripture. They share it with their friends and their friends say it’s all good.You made mention of being guided by the Holy Spirit at times… and I believe it was in relation to when reading the Bible.
The question is: If you believe that you are being guided by the Holy Spirit, how do you know with certainty that it is specifically the Holy Spirit, and not another spirit…even one of a nefarious nature?
Its a serious question.
Also, the sola scriptura types are their own “final arbiter of truth.” Truth is relative from one person to another. They say the Bible is the “final court of arbitration” but there is no way they can know it all, so really they are. I find that to be so limiting, compared with 2,000 years of history and Tradition.
