My parish and diocese are not much different from yours. There was some training last September for the ‘music ministers’ but since the choir director left not knowing whether or not she could start using the new settings immediately (she came to me for the answer), I’m not sure there was much taught about the translation, it was all about the new settings. Considering the Sister was dealing primarily with non musicians, it’s doubtful they got much out of her three hours. The average person in the pew has only seen the small article I put in the bulletin last April after the text was approved by Rome.I’m well aware that there’s the 3rd Edition of the Roman Missal, and I’ve been cognizant of it for about five years now…
… nonetheless I chose “What New Roman Missal Translation” since it best reflects the amount of work done in my parish to prepare everyone else. No mention of it in the announcements, no sight on the parish website, not a peep on the archdiocese’s website.
Perhaps those involved with music and the liturgy are doing behind the scene work and being very discrete about it, and we should expect public announcements closer to the date of release? My parish and diocese are not much different from yours. The priests are getting a one week workshop in October. Not sure we’ll have a pastor by then, ours leaves in 3 weeks and when I left last Saturday there was still no word on a replacement.

No, DH is in the choir and it’s never been mentioned. We were out of town when Sister came to do the workshop.
In the mean time, I have heard from (eavesdropped on?) parishioners outside of Mass and have heard them discussing the new edition. It’s almost always negative, and I even overheard one proudly confess his plans to continue reciting the old responses, as loudly as he can to show his disapproval.
From what I can tell, other than a few people in my own circle, it’s not on anyone’s radar in my parish. Certainly have never heard it discussed by the parishioners and the other two people in my circle (finance council) don’t actually discuss the translation, they’re only concerned about the cost of the new materials we need.
It would really help if our pastors would say something.

Don’t know about yours but mine wouldn’t take kindly to being told to post something like this in the bulletin. He would consider it his perogative to decide when to do this – some priests believe there is no reason to do this any earlier than early November.Ask your Pastor to post in the bulletin and website if available. And speak about it very shortly at the announcements.
This thread seems as though the blame on communication rests solely on the Priest. And I feel we have our own responsibility to ensure we train our family and those around us. “Go make disciples of all nations” A Priest must have broad shoulders to carry the load he already has, if we can help, why not.
