Let’s have the rainbow 🌈 as a Catholic symbol!

The rainbow was a convenant to Noah and all the creatures from the Ark which had pairs of male and female animals.

I propose the Catholic Chuuch should adopt this as a symbol for the wonderful creation by God and His plan for us as males and females and the beauty of marriage of humans as between a man and a woman.
We should have a special day for it to celebrate and we should wear rainbow sashes and have stickers on our cars and put it in entrances of churches and shops to let people know we love what God has created for us.

You’re right. There would be some confusion during the transitional phase, but “they” will probably give up in the end. And I agree, then we would have a really cool symbol!
 
I know it sounds crazy on face value but please think about this seriously.
The rainbow is such a beautiful creation by God and I’m just disgusted that that it has been hijacked.

All great ideas in history often sounds crazy to the people of the time.
 
I can’t believe that you would draw attention to your belief and worship of a God who you believe killed virtually all people and all living things, including children and unborn children and animals who knew no wrong in a brutal and painful way and then resolved not to do it again. This is one of the absolutely hardest Catholic beliefs to communicate with any hope of gaining sympathy from a secular audience.
 
I understand the rainbow as a covenant that God will never AGAIN destroy mortal creatures by flooding the earth. i’m not sure this translates to the beauty of marriage between man and a woman. I think we have two different rainbows in play here.

Well can anyone tell me why it has to be a symbol of a particular group? It’s not as if they invented it.
 
I’m lost. I guess I was the naive one for thinking this was going to be a gentle, somewhat jokey thread. Seems you guys are getting ready to going to battle here. Roguish out.
 
It can be jokey if you want. I don’t mind either way.
I don’t think it’ll work obviously but its ok to talk about hypotheticals if you’re up for it.

can’t report what I don’t know. But yes, it was for reproductive purposes - humans, animals, birds.
