Let’s have the rainbow 🌈 as a Catholic symbol!

The rainbow is a Jewish symbol and through the Jews also a Catholic symbol.

It is not an exclusively Jewish / Christian symbol though and to use it in opposition to a group who have also chosen this as symbol on the grounds in which they have chosen it is not necessary and needlessly confrontational.

I think the open honest confrontation should be over the issues of sexuality and good for society and not over symbols.

What is the rainbow, it is God’s sign for the Covenant He made with Noah, and us.

Oops sorry maybe I didn’t search properly. Can you post the link to the previous discussion? I still can’t find it. I want to see whether people had some good points to say about this.

It’s pre the ‘mail survey. It might not have moved. It’s all good, about time others started thinking this way too. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

Maybe after the wedding…it’s all about the wedding atm 💍👑🎂

Perhaps a first step is simply not to avoid using the rainbow.
I remember as a kid I used to make drawings using rainbow colours for my art class. Now I’m hearing Catholic friends trying to avoid using the rainbow colours for everyday matters.

Yes I think Catholic marriages can start using rainbow decorations as a start.

I wished the “no” campaign for same sex marriage used the rainbow colours.

I’m sure it’s already in vintage collection somewhere…

The rainbow was because - GOD destroyed the earth with rain-
The earth was grossly wicked and violent - with Homosexuality too -
Just like how Sodom and Gomorrah - were leveled to dust -
but there was no rainbow after that devastation though -

It’s already been claimed by Noahides.

Some Jewish religious groups have been particularly active in promoting the Seven Laws, notably the Chabad-Lubavitch movement (whose late leader, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, launched the global Noahide Campaign), groups affiliated with Dor Daim.

Excellent!! No one has a monopoly on the rainbow colours. It’s just nature.

🌈

Yes.

As Catholics however we have through Jesus a new covenant, and imagery that goes with it, like a fish, crucifixes, etc. 🐟

Noahidism is a very interesting topic. 🌷

Ick.

If I were planning a wedding and reception, I would avoid primary colors like the plague. Using rainbows would make the place feel like an elementary school. But I guess we could cover the tables with butcher paper, give everyone crayons and then let them color.
