I find it funny that liberals look for ANYTHING to nail orthodox people on. . .

I taught a course the other day and after having to deal with a liberal that said she had been teaching in the catholic schools for 20+ years who felt it was appropriate to abort deformed fetuses and crack babies,

I spoke about JP2s theology of the body wherein he describes the nuptial union of a man and a wife as one of the greatest ‘foretastes’ of heaven that we can experience… Then I explained that in the nuptial union a man and wife receieve sacramental grace. They asked what sacramental grace was so i described the grace we receive in Reconciliation and then also in the Eucharist, etc…

Well i got a call from my boss a few days later about someone (that liberal pro-abortion lady) complaining that i spoke about SEX and the EUCHARIST in the same breath (that is when I spoke about the theology of the body)… She called to say she was ‘OFFENDED’.

Ok, don’t put all of us in the same basket. I am probably left of center on some issues, but I can guarantee you that I don’t believe in aborting babies, nor would I object to any of the explainations that you gave.

Basicallly, I’m a pro-life Democrat. I believe in paying workers a living wage. I’m generally pro-union. I believe in freedom of speech, even if it is something I disagree with. I believe in the power of a free press. I am against the war in Iraq. I think Pres. Bush is a terrrible president. I don’t believe in using torture to obtain information.

Yes, I really do have all of those animals! We have an acreage, and have plenty of room for them and the kids! A few of the neighbor animals like to stop by and play, too!

With regards to freedom of speech then, were you OK with that recent docu-drama about the road to 9/11? You know, the one that painted Clinton as more concerned with Monica than the issue of terror?

War in Iraq is essential, Im sorry, i dont want my head cut off my radical islamists. We cant negotiate with them. Its like trying to negotiate with Hitler… Well, hitler might have been EASIER than these guys, we are their ‘infdels’ and they want us to convert or die… Spooky stuff

Pardon me for interjecting, but I don’t believe “mommy of 4” asked you for an argument. If I may point out gently, it appears that you might be showing some of the same characteristic that you laugh at liberals for having.

I don’t want to be a know it all, spoil sport. But you should use hetrodox instead of liberal in this context. Liberal can mean a lot of things, and is not the opposite of orthodox, its the opposite of conservative. Hetrodox is the opposite of orthodox, plus it makes you sound like you know what you’re talking about because most people don’t know what it means, so you get to explain it. Just an FYI.

I asked her opinion on a TV show and then I shared my opinion on the war, um Liberian sorry if you took that as starting a debate.

The Democratic party only believes in free speech and a free press if you agree with them. The recent attacks on ABC over “Path to 9/11” are another good example of their feelings on this issue. Did you hear any Republicans threatening them over the coverage of Bush’s mistakes?

I won’t cut your head off. Yes, you’re right about the war being necessary. We found so many weapons of mass destruction over there, it’s scary. It is certainly worth all of the fatalities on both side.

Seriously, by our actions, we are **creating **more extremists than we are eliminating.😦

I guess you just dismiss out-of-hand the testimony of Iraq’s top Air Force commander (and various other top officials of Saddam’s regieme) that they moved tons of illegal weapons to Syria in the many months they had to do so before the war started? You think that he just made up all the information about the numbers of, and exactly what types of aircraft and trucks were used to do it? I guess you do not think that stopping wholesale murder, rape, and torture was “worth it”? In spite of what the Democrat-controlled media has told you, the vast majority of Iraqis do not agree with you.

Can you even be that? Aren’t all Democrats the same? I mean, I don’t beleive in Abortion unless it is a life-threatening situation, which is pretty rare…but I’ve been informed multiple times that I am for something called “Drive-thru abortions”. Perhaps, since we are Democrats, other people understand us both better than we do.

Anyone who does not really should find a country to live in where the people they disagree with are repressed. There are plenty such countries out there. By disagreeing with this simple thing that make it clear they want to live in a country designed to resemble themselves, and not a truly free country.

As a 95% Republican voter, I would probably agree with you about half the time (I am rather fond of our president, though), Still I would vote for a Democrat of good character, who was pro-life, but a social liberal in a heart beat, all other things being equal.

I wish the Democratic party would abandon its pro-abortion stance so I could feel like I had more of a choice. It is good to know that people like you are hanging in there. It is a lesson to us all not to paint any labeled group with too broad a brush.

I do too! I’m a Democrat, but I do not necessarily buy into everthing on their platform. I am vehemently pro-life, and I know that there are other pro-life Democrats out there, too. I think that we need to be more vocal within our party and try to make some changes to the party. If everyone who believes as we do left the party, then there would be no one to advocate for a softening of their abortion postion.

I think that there are some within the party who are beginning to realize that there needs to be some softening of their abortion stance. I think some of the recent election losses are making them rethink the extremist view of abortion open to all no matter what.

It’s get the charity level up a bit here. There are many ways to express an opinion without degrading a poster personally.
