I apologize for my choice of words

I have been told to work on my ‘sensitivity’
:rotfl:
Me too! People in the forum would never know me in person because of how much I tone everything down in writing. The ironic thing is, the last time I went ballistic on these forums was over politics (the “bushlike conservative” thread) and was specifically over abortion.

I would agree, though that “moron” would not be the most accurate description. I would emphasize more the abject evil of people that contribute to mothers murdering their own child. I think many of them will share a room in hell with Hitler, Stalin and other mass murderers.

The irony is overwhelming, is it not?
You chide her for dismissing the church teaching on abortion yet did you dismiss the church teaching on forgiveness. Matthew 5: 38-40 , and Mathew 18: 20-23 24-35
Your entire point is entirely lost on me. 1) I did not “chide” this person, nor did she simply “dismiss” Church teaching on abortion; rather I pointed out her cognitive dissonance and her untenable position in direct opposition to Church teaching in a grave manner; if anything this Catholic educator is additionally guilty of the grave sin of scandal; 2) Instead of presuming forgiveness was in order for her public position of dissidence; I rather tongue in cheek relinquished to God, and God alone, any degree of judgment based on culpability for one in such an obvious darkness of mind (I do not pretend to know the hardness of her heart). Regardless, it is not for me to extend forgiveness to this wayward soul, only to pray for her repentance.

The coercive evil and demonically driven pressure and rationalizations for women, most often women feeling in a vulnerable state (unmarried, limited options, lack of support), to end the life of their unborn child, is the brainchild of the Enemy at hand.
I think many of them will share a room in hell with Hitler, Stalin and other mass murderers.
If they die unrepentent. Let us pray for these folks in order to deny the devil a final victory over these lost souls.

🙂 I guess thats my problem. . . I have no filter whatsoever.

I wish not to reveal which diocese I am in, but I am an apologist for the Diocese (and no I am not kidding) and I have a diocesan sponsored forum to teach on a weekly basis

I am constantly criticized for not being ‘sensitive’ to people’s ‘experiences’.

Finally the bishop and the diocesan theologian got hold of all my teachings … and well, they loved it!!! My bishop is awesome. For him there is no price too high for the truth.

What about those still babes in the faith who can only accept milk? Fragile egos and obnoxious pride aside, do you have a range of presentation style to match the hearing decimal (sensitivity) of the individual audience? There are many wounded [psychological, emotional, spiritual] souls out there. Have you had much reflective or feedback experience of pushing people away with too harsh a presentation in presenting the cutting and countercultural gospel message? Perhaps accepting some momentary attrition is the price of planting the seeds of truth (as was the case in the gospel of the rich young man encounter with the Truth), and entrusting the leaven of the harvest to the Holy Spirit. A few musing of mine and not necessarily looking for a response.

Excellent!

Very well said.

Uh oh! I just read Ahmedinejad’s talking points that he delivered today. Now he’s done it! After a speech like that, I don’t see how in the world he is going to avoid being the presidential nominee of the democrat party in 2008.

???

So she makes a statement and I cant respond? I should just say, oh thats nice, thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut?
Tipiloschi,

Well, yes, in fact, that is exactly the polite thing to do. You asked her for your opinion and she gave it to you. If she asks you for yours, then you have the right to give it to her; otherwise a simple “Thank you for your answer”–and particularly on a controversial subject where you disagree with her–is the appropriate response.

I was thinking the same thing-maybe he’ll be Hillary’s running mate.

What might be helpful is a list of characteristics which separate “conservatives” from “liberals”

Or republican from democrats

In Oklahoma they say “Six months after we send them to Washington we can not tell the difference”

“Conservative: a statesman who is enamoured of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others.” ~ Ambrose Bierce

It ain’t just liberals that are funny. This whole thread is a hoot. Talk about steriotyping. Ho Ho Ho!

I think she is a farm girl - signed off at 8:30pm and back on at 5:30am. I miss the farm sometimes, at least until is rains, until you have to rush home as daylight is short, or until I want to sleep in, all in all it passes fairly quickly.

Pretty close. I’m also a teacher - get up early to get everything ready for the day, go to bed early 'cause I’m tired.
