I’m glad you asked this… because I think this also is part of the problem (not that guys are the problem, but that factor is key in the reason why so many are having difficulties)
As a woman, I don’t even know of any suggestions other than just go out and join some group to meet others… But that’s not easy either… I’ve tried that as well and it seems with every group I try, the men are all married, or usually there are no men at all.
There’s also the fact that men and women like to do different activities. If you aren’t a sporty girl, you shouldn’t have to pretend to be into sports and join a group… same with the opposite sceario.
Its true that a woman has to watch out for herself. I was chatted up in the grocery store by a very handsome man that I would have loved to have had the chance to get to know him better, but the initial conversation just kind of fizzled and it was too awkward to proceed anywhere with it… plus, I don’t know what he could have said or done that would not have put that natural female ‘on guard’ fear to rest… Its just there. He wasn’t creepy at all, but that I just didn’t know him. There might be attraction, but he’s still a stranger. The only thing I could have come up with where it could have proceeded is if he asked if I wanted to go sit down and have a drink at the grocery store’s cafe. But even that is very awkward after someone asks you a quirky but fun question about shampoo.

Even so, then what after that if we did sit down and talk? I** still **would have no clue about this guy. I don’t have any connections to reassure me that he’s a decent fellow. He probably most likely is, but I’m not going to have the ability to be myself around him until I know much more about him.
