Life is too short. Post a Cartoon! (please)

I’ve been thinking about him too. There are a couple of other threads he’s been very active in also and there haven’t been any posts for over 30 days now. Hope all is well.

I am well. Thank you all for thinking of me. I had thought the cartoon section was my last bastion of safety. Unfortunately, the “community” objected to one of my cartoons, and I was subsequently suspended. The thing is that I do not even know which cartoon offended the “community”, so I do not know what behavior to change.

The CAF admins need to seriously re-evaluate their understanding of learning theory. Punitive measures without the chance to correct is ineffective. Period. Basic educational theory tells you this. A better way to correct a problem is through detailed explanation of what was offensive and, possibly, allow the perpetrator (like we’re suddenly criminals) to remove the post themselves. This does not occur. It is ignorant. And if that statement gets me banned, then so be it.

The educator in me will not abide by the offensive heavy-handedness of the admins.

So, I am either going to take a long hiatus from the site or simply refrain from coming here altogether. I would so hate to upset the “community’s” delicate sensibilities.

I second this. I was recently suspended and to this day cannot figure out what was offensive or violated a rule. And the moderators refuse to tell me.
 
I hope that you will limit your absence to a hiatus, jvickers.
I appreciate your humor and thoughtfulness and CAF will be a colder place without you.
Sometimes it can be really good to get offline for a while-online can become an echo chamber at times and it’s good to step outside to expand perspective or to refresh oneself.
But I think your humor is, in a way, an apostolate, in a world which is in sore need of shared smiles. I hope your time of refreshment will be fruitful and give you both the energy and the quietude to return to us with renewed vigor and purpose.

Over the years I have learned to appreciate and respect the guidance of CAF mods.
When I think back at some of the remarks I made that earned me good and sometimes strict guidance, I actually blush. Ultimately, I am thankful.

Finally had time to find new cartoons. (Here’s to not getting suspended again!)
 
I don’t often comment here, but just to say, jvickers, that your cartoons (and others) always give me a good laugh, which is much needed in these hard times! 😆
 
The thing is, dandelion greens are really good (assuming you pick them young and you haven’t poisoned the plant). Not to mention dandelion wine.
 
Will collect some dandelion greens to sauté and stir into scrambled eggs in the morning.

 
ZOMG I just love Clara and have been binge watching her vids since the shutdown!!!

Reminds me of my own beloved gram-grams who both passed on years ago and I still miss them terribly :cry:
