**Praise the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty expanse.
Praise Him for His mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with trumpet sound;
Praise Him with harp and lyre.
Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and (I)pipe.
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD!
Psalm 150
**
Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
Psalm 33:3
I will sing a new song to you, O God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
Psalm 144:9
As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road.
As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,
shouting:
“BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD;
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
**
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”
But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”
Luke 19:36-40
**
Please don’t deny the Church it’s universal nature. Just because you don’t prefer a music “style” doesn’t mean it has to be wrong. Go to a different Mass if you don’t like it. And don’t judge the genuineness of people’s faith if they prefer stringed instruments and sounding cymbals. It has nothing to do with the sincerity in which they love and worship God. It’s just different. It’s a “new song.”
