I agree Trump should nominate. If he wins the election and the Senate stays Republican, they should vote after the election.
He won the election. The senate won the election. There is no reason to wait. There is no reason to do it differently than it has always been done.
If they lose, lame duck, they need to decide if it’s politically worth it to have a vote.
No reason to wait.

I promise you, if this were President H. Clinton and Majority Leader Schumer, they would nominate and vote before the election.
I would expect them to.

America’s founders, of course, did not actually agree that all men (to say nothing of women) were created equal.
So should we mimic those less than full personhood ideas that the leftists had with slaves,
and CONTINUE to carry out the same less-than-full-personhood (on pre-born people)
that the left is still trying to propagate?

The left has always done this in America (re-define persons as less than full persons).

Why would I support that kind of worldview?

Yet you still vote for the party of murder who want abortion on demand right up to birth & even after birth? That along with socialism which is the thin wedge & step to Godless communism.

No true Catholic would vote for that IMO!

The whole point is a non partisan court…
That sure would be a change. No nominee is ever truly non-partisan. They bring a lifetime of thought and beliefs to the bench and the presidents choose them exactly for their partisanship.

As far as I can tell, they (the Republicans led by Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham) established a precedent the last time this happened, so I would hope they would do the fair thing and honor it (but I know they probably won’t).

Actually that precedent was started by JB a while back. What the Republicans are doing now is well within their perview and has been done numerous times over history under these circumstances. The Dems would do the same.

I think you are misinterpreting the precedent.

The precedent is when we are in power we do what we want.

Oh, let’s see, the Republicans controlled the Senate in 2016.

So, somehow we ignore the system?

By the way, Graham has said they probably have the votes.

Of course, one could have a nominee like Kavanaugh and have those highly believable stories with no backup told to the Senate (sarcasm). And the story teller with connections to Planned Parenthood too.

Since the Dems have chosen to push for mail in ballots, I foresee a court fight and an even number of judges is not what we need for a case like that.
