Even though I’ll always love aspects of the Catholic faith and will always consider myself Catholic, I think it’s too complicated. I’ve read a lot here at this site that confirms that thought. I really don’t want to deal with so much complication in my relationship with God right now. I don’t feel like dragging my children to Mass anymore. We haven’t gone to Mass much in the last 6 months. I think our family will be looking for a simpler faith.
There is so much about your inner self from what you have written that needs
to be addressed… I don’t know where to begin…
On one hand, I think you need to be instructed in some basic foundations of being
a person and a parent… but on the other hand, it really isn’t anyone’s elses place
to say so too you. But then you did put it out here in the public… The fact that you
did this, seems to say too me, that maybe some other opinions just might be
properly in order but if not, you can always disreguard it.
Your children are infants by law until they are eighteen years of age. And you are
the parents… the word parent does not spell friend. You can be friendly but you should
not be their friends until they pass their 18 yr birthday,
I assume that you stood over them at Baptism and promised God that you would
expose them to the Faith… think carefully about that vow you made to God.
If you children want to be entertained and have fellowship with teens ouside of school
give them a membership to the YMCA there. It is filled with people of their peers
and they are watched over very well by an association of christian adults.
But when it comes to the needs of their souls… they need a chruch which will allow them
to be connected to the Graces of God in order to develope their christian morals
and the strenght to live out those morals in a society which is against them.
The Catholic chruch has the main structures they need in order to connect
to God Himself through the Sacraments and there isn’t any other chruch which can do a better job of that than the Catholic Faith. And that is the first and most important part of their faith. The Sacraments.
when your children were young did you allow them to just eat candy for supper?
Or did you serve them the proper food for the proper nourisment of their bodies?
You need to think the same for them, in this matter also… Show them the faith
which will meet all of their needs… and stand up for that faith…
To have a relationship with God takes more silence than noise… we all have to
examine ourselves in order to see what it is that we are suppose to be doing
in the kingdom of God and compare that with what we are actually doing.
And go to the Sacraments for the strenght to do what the Holy Spirit tells us
too do…
How do we normally live? We tend to stay away from the silence of ourselves.
Notice how often the tv is on, or the radio… reading, going out often?
Most of the time, we are doing those things because we dread the silence
of ourselves… for it is within those silences that we discover our true selves
and we don’t like what we see… as what we should be…
I think we all need the silence and stillness of the Catholic faith…
Instead of allowing your children to walk away from the silence of God which
might be keeping them from some of the richest forms of God in their
lives “lead them into it”.
You have a problem with someone in your family? Take one of your
children and go into the chapel and say a Rosery for that problem
and share that with him/her. Show them the Faith in action.
Each of us goes to the Sacraments to receive more Grace from God so
we can be the person he wants us to be… that is it… it is a means to
receving our personal dose of the amount of Grace that God wants
to give too us. It is not a social function moment…
There are plenty of activities offered in most catholic churches. and
one can join them… and have a wonderful full social life within them.
If your church doesn’t… why not start one… there just might be more
young members there who are waiting for it too…
Just some food for thoughts…
