No offense, Byz, but I would be more than cautious of a province that lets its pre-novices out on the computer and internet so frequently…

diocese/diocesan
Notice how when someone starts off with “no offence” that they then proceed to offend?

Very charitable of you.

I also do not need your correction of my spelling. Seems you understood what I was saying without the correction.

And as a point of correction to you. A pre-novice is not officially part of the order nor are the Carmelites a cloistered group. We, pre-novices, are students living in community while in a sort of Carmelite formation. The goal is to either get our degrees or to get the required philosophy. We are not hermits nor are we monks, we have personal lives, just as most religious do.

A pre-novitiate differs from a postulancy. Orders with a postulancy usually have their people attend college after the novitiate as the postulancy is usually 6 months and then the year and a day novitiate. The Carmelites do not have a postulancy.

And for your convenience I ran all of this through a spell checker, happy now?

UKcatholicGuy:
I’m looking for some information on men’s religious orders-- specifically REALLY ORTHODOX religious orders.
I would refer to EWTN as mentioned. Also perhaps the Franciscan University of Steubenville site may help.
