I already carry firearms liability insurance, thank you very much.

I am pretty sure your car insurance does not cover all the damage your car could do. Insurance is based on probability and mass shootings are an extremely rare sort of gun violence, insurance against them would not be feasible to offer or purchase.

Yes, the state required a minimum amount of car insurance. My insurance agent told me that she didn’t think I had enough, so we upped the minimum quite a bit a few years ago and I believe it would be enough for the vast majority of accidents.

So, do I take it that you don’t have enough firearms insurance?

Let me put it this way. My insurance is enough for the vast majority of firearms incidents.

AFAIK, the assassin in Las Vegas did not steal his guns. He should have been required to have insurance on each one of his guns, so that the victims who were wounded and the families of those killed could receive some remuneration. One suggestion is 10 million dollars for a death benefit, and 4 million dollars for someone who had been injured. Depending on the seriousness of the injury, of course, the amount paid by the insurance would vary.
When you own a car, you are required to have insurance. It should work the same way when you own a gun.
My auto insurance company is not going to pay if I deliberately run over someone. That’s not how insurance works.

Well, you want insurance because you see it as a backdoor method of banning private ownership of firearms. My ownership of firearms doesn’t cost you anything, so my response is not just no, but Hell no. You want my guns, be a man and come and try to take them.

I am not complaining. I just think your ideas are unrealistic and would disproportionately affect the gun rights of impoverished citizens. Leading me to suspect that this is a way to backdoor disarmament.

No, I want insurance to protect my rights to property. You seem to think you have the right to my property and are using the guise of maintaining your rights to tread on my rights.

And you can stop with the macho stuff. No one comes across like a tough guy while hiding behind the anonymity of the internet.

How does my individual possession of a firearm infringe on your property rights? Demonstrate the link between my gun and your alleged loss of property.

Individual with firearms who accidentally or intentionally kill or injure someone frequently pass that cost onto society at large. Suppose you don’t properly secure your firearm and some kid gets ahold of it and accidentally shoots a neighbor. The cost of that neighbor’s medical bills will probably end up being passed on. Or, if the neighbor dies, his family will collect Social Security Death benefits and that cost will come from me.

Now, I’m sure you are very responsible and keep your firearm secured in a safe and clearly you aren’t crazy or prone to anger, so I would expect that your insurance would be low. After all, you already purchase it.

By that logic all Muslims are responsible for the actions of ISIS terrorists.

Yet justifiable by your logic. So do you favor requiring all Muslims to purchase terrorist insurance?

Are all gun owners criminals?
No. I didn’t say they were. I said that they have no right to my property and should buy appropriate insurance to cover the costs to society that their weapon may cause. It seems like you buy insurance, so I am not sure exactly what the problem is.
