Hello??? I’m wondering how two threads got combined??? Area all the comments from the one here as well? Oh dear! My head is spinning. Robert, if you are “listening” can you help me out? :confused:

Oh my. Are we in Kansas yet? If I click my heels together and say, “There’s no place like home; there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…” will I find myself back at the other thread? Toto? Are you there? 😃

Glenda
The moderators have the ability to combine threads. They do this when there are two threads discussing the same thing. When this happens, the posts are sorted by the order in time they were posted, rather than by which thread they came from.

Right. You can tell which post came from which original thread if you look at each individual post title. That can help alleviate the confusion somewhat. :o

Apostolic succession, by that virtue, he has the privilege to address the Holy Father on maters of faith as did the Apostles to each other. Where Cardinal Burke has, IMHO, made a mistake is that he has done so very publicly and with a great deal of dis-respect shown to the Holy Father.

For example, I do not agree with my direct supervisor on a great number of policies. In public I don’t make derogatory statements against my supervisor and his policies - I would like to keep my position. However, I have the privilege as the Senior Projects Chemist to go to my direct, close the door and respectfully tell him when his train has derailed and I have done so quite often and with some very point-blank words.

Cardinal Burke, should have gone to the Holy Father, closed the door, and had the discussion there… not in the public lime-light.
👍

It’s not spin;

theglobeandmail.com/news/world/pope-demotes-outspoken-american-conservative-cardinal/article21513407/

'Pope Francis on Saturday demoted an outspoken conservative American cardinal who has been highly critical of the pontiff’s reformist leadership of the Roman Catholic Church.

Cardinal Raymond Burke, 66, was removed as head of the Vatican’s highest court and appointed to the ceremonial post of chaplain of the charity group Knights of Malta.’
I continue to be impressed by our new Pope.

I hope that is sarcasm. If anyone is not at least a little bit concerned something is wrong with them. The synod (or should I say sin-nod) was an absolute disaster. Those who should have spoken were silent. How could the press get the mid-term relatio BEFORE the bishops? It has already been translated and everything. It was obviously a pre-planned release.

Pope Francis is drawing rock star raves for softening the Vatican’s image on such issues as homosexuality, capitalism and divorce, but his celebrated tolerance doesn’t seem to extend to dissenters within the church, whose conservative revolt came to a halt when the pontiff exiled their de facto leader to obscurity.

As uusal, I wonder if this is secular media spin or true. Interesting that Fox News says it. I feel like the so called conservatives are dialoging pretty well so far - we’ll see how things play out at the Synod. I think the bishops will hold their ground on important issues.

Lol fox news sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo late on this story.

Cardinal Burke’s reassignment is already being discussed in this forum.
