This the phenomenon as I see it.
“There is a devaluation of the mascline in our society. The 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” mindset so to speak. The assumptions are:
Men are dirty
Men are slobs
Men are uncouth and unrefined
Men cold and/or brutish
Men are ignorant and/or stupid"
That’s a great point. If you can, I would encourage you to listen to Dennis Prager. He is a religious Jew who has a daily radio show. He often talks about the different natures of males and females. One point he constantly makes is that it is just assumed that there are certain parts of the male nature that we need to exercise self control over (aggression, sex drive for example). He said men know this. However, most people don’t think there is anything in the female nature that requires exercising self control over. Male nature is “bad”, female nature is “good”. That is how most people think; including many men. In my opinion, the first thing to realize is our complementary nature. Also, let’s work on how we treat the opposite sex more than we worry about how they treat us.
