March for Life - anyone going?

I live in MD, so it’s easy. We take our 8th grade class to the youth rally, Mass and march. We leave school around 6am on Thursday :eek: and return around 4pm. (I keep forgetting to ask the principal if we can come in late on Friday!)

Who else is going?
 
What about those going to the West Coast march or any more local ones? Here in NM we have one at the State Capitol ending with a Mass.

I won’t be doing that one either but more because I don’t do well with crowds to begin with and now that my stamina is lower it is much worse (there was a time I would just suck it up and pray a lot to make it through the crowds).

I’m going with the Catholic group on campus! We’re leaving at 4am on Wednesday! It’s going to be a loooong bus ride! 🙂

I’m from Ohio–we’re leaving at 9PM Wednesday night to arrive at the Verizon Center sometime between 6 and 7AM!

I’m so excited! I went last year and it was awesome. And I’m prepared, now–I went shopping for food this morning!

It’ll probably be even bigger this year than last year…

Pope John Paul II once said: “A nation that kills its own children is a nation without hope.” I hope we can change this (and veto the new FOCA that Obama wants)…
 
My DD leaves Illinois on Wed morning at 4:30 am and is going for the mass at Verizon and the March… I volunteered to chaperon again this year but the chaplain said a bunch of freshmen moms said their kids couldn’t go if they didn’t so I couldn’t go this year.
 
I would love to go, but unfortunately I was not able to get the time off of work. I will be there with everyone in spirit and in prayer, though. This is certainly a monumental year to be there!

Sure am!! This will be my 9th March and the 6th in which I have been a bus captain. I now see this event as a prayerful pilgrimage. This year more so than ever.

I wish I could… but caregiving responsibilities and distance… prevent. 😦

I will be praying for ALL of you, participating on both coasts… and any marches, in between. We will also be watching the coverage on EWTN. Which is likely to be the ONLY network offering extended coverage.

Tomorrow morning… y’all pray I can get dd to school at 4:30 am after picking up ds1 from the airport late tonight…
 
The diocese of Wichita, KS has 500 people going. Mostly high school and college kids. The K of C have volunteered to chaperon this year. They kick off with a mass celebrated by the Bishop at 6pm, then travel through the night. The bishop is riding along on what they’ve named “Shepard One” and the kids are all calling themselves Roamin’ Catholics:thumbsup:
 
Went to our state March today - a benefit of being unemployed.:rolleyes: I’m going to be spending even more time in Eucharistic Adoration now.
We had (we were told) about 7,000 - we were also told that this state, unlike most others, actually has gone up in the number of abortions in the last few years (rather than going down like many other states).:eek:
 
I am so bummed. After tossing around the idea for a week, I finally decided to take our two oldest to the march on a bus. I called, worried the bus would be full but to my surprise it was cancelled! The woman said it’s the first time in 18 years the trip was cancelled! It was going to work out well for us because it was not an overnight trip, just down and back. I tried to find another trip nearby but haven’t had any luck today. By tomorrow it might be too late to arrange everything. Oh well, maybe we’ll pray the rosary together or something.

A group from my church (St. Norbert, Paoli, PA - west of Philadelphia) is going. We will arrive around 11:00 and be there for the duration. There are about 40 of us.
 
My dd is on her way… there is about 50 in their group. We combine with another Catholic HS for this trip…

Oh… and when she gets back she will be cleaning the offices for BirthRight… how’s that for continued efforts? I was proud of her for accepting this volunteer job. The woman who cuts her hair was volunteering but she is burnt out so since her aunt runs it (woman in her 70’s) she needed help and the hairdresser asked my dd to do it… she made arrangements to go every other week to clean for them and if they need more she will recruit friends from high school.
 
I sincerely hope a huge crowd shows up .Wouldn’t it be wonderful if 2 million came?🙂
 
My experience is that even if 2 million people show the news won’t report on it… sad but true.
