Exactly. There are three reactions: fight, flight, freeze. I’ve heard that a fourth is “fawn” but that was in relation to child abuse and I’m not sure if it applies in general. My reaction when assaulted was also to freeze. It does not make anyone less of a victim.
😦

I’m sorry.

My assault happened over thirty years ago. I too froze, as if my mind could not process what was happening. And for a long time I told no one. Only now my husband and my therapist know. Other close people to me don’t know.

And the memory can stay dormant for years, until it comes back with a vengeance. Like when you have a baby girl and wonder how the heck you can keep her safe.

Like the time a creepy guy at Target who looked like him was conveniently in each section I was in, and then on line right behind me. Just to get to my car was frightening, I was worried he’d follow me.

Or when someone who is running for president has a tape of him saying that he would do what was done to me because they “Let him” Did the jerk who did that to me when I was a girl think I let him? Because I was to scared to scream and I froze? Did he think I was a groupie?

Just listening to a recording ofvAshley Judd and Madonna ranting at this women’s March. Are they insane? The issues they are screeching about have nothing to do with DT. I do not recall DT saying anything re GLTBQ ,whatever. What is their issue with equality for women re jobs pay?D T has a wife and daughter, both successful businesswomen and mothers.I believe it was Obama who paid his female employees less than his male. Are the just project ting? No I think in the end they are just ticked off because HC lost and they are so afraid of losing the sacred right to kill their babies.
Referring to DT as Hitlarian ,really diminishes the horrendous actions of Hitlar.Did any of them even listen To Trump’s inaugural address? He as much as said he was giving the gov’t back to the people. All people. This should be renamed the Mass Histerial Women’s March,of the Drama Queen March. Really!
Yes.

Just a bunch of drama queens trying to get their place in the spotlight.

I cannot even imagine the horror for you. You are in my prayers.

Trump boasted to a TV interviewer about his sexual assaults. Trump willingly accepted a radio interviewer’s lewd comments about his own daughter. We have had many situations in which people sin. But statements in public fora championing sin is a new frontier.

I think that our memory needs some refreshing, although it is mystifying why it is of interest to reflect on Teddy. You should note, however, that Kennedy was rejected by voters in the primary.
Please stop with the term “sexual assault”, he used the word let you, and was clearly referencing women who throw themselves at rich men. These type of women exists and so don’t playboys who like these type of woman. I do understand some who realize their victorian virgin act wasn’t cutting it, turned to their pretend we don’t understand English method of argument, and claimed that Trump was confessing to having committed a "sexual assault”, but it absolutely ridiculous.

Do we need to point out everyone who has gone on Howard Stern and accepted his lewd comments? Trump was basically agreeing that his daughter is a good looking woman, and he’s right. The language may have been lewd on Howard’s part but what else is new…

My memory doesn’t need any refreshing with regards to Teddy Kennedy. He ran for Senate in 1962, won, and went on to win 11 more Senate races after 1969, and when he ran for President in 1980, while he may not have won, the same liberals and those in positions of power who were outraged at Trump and called him unfit to run for President, supported TK unequivocally. TK held a two to one chance to over Carter to win in most polls, but when he gave an incoherent and repetitive answer to the question of why he was running he tanked. Meanwhile Carter’s approval ratings jumped in the 60-percent range in some polls, due to a rally‘round the flag effect after the embassy in Tehran incident.

My comment on TK should be clear that it was to draw a comparison and to point out the hypocrisy by people outraged by Trump’s comments but the support around someone who killed someone, and never apologized, as well as to bring up the question what happened to the 11-year rule?

There are countless other US leaders including distinguished members of Congress who have said far worse than Trump and have used terrible sexual slurs and have never apologized? Where was the outrage? Where they fit to hold office?

Well, he bragged about nonconsensual sexual acts. And then was accused of it by multiple women.

So…?

His characterization of the response to his actions prior to consent, is not determinative. It also varies from that given by numerous accusers.

The radio show is a lewd show for a lewd audience. Trump fit in.
11th hour accusers all who have been proven to be liars or loons… It was like another casting call for another Anita Hill.

Trump has been in the public spotlight for over 20 years and was never accused of sexual assault or even to be a “racist”, except when he ran for public office and a month before the election was to be held.

Pffff…

Not a surprise though since “sexists, racist” is the go to battle call for liberals.

He didn’t not brag about NON-consensual sexual acts. He bragged about consensual acts.

Trump said: “When you’re a star, they LET YOU do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the p*ssy. You can do any of that. (Laughter.)” Journalists turned this into “sexual assault” by being literal on the “grab” part, non-figurative on the “you” part – and on the “they let you do it” part? Deaf. If “they let you do it,” it’s not an assault.

See previous post about his 11th hour accusers…

Ivana accused him of rape 25+ years ago in a sworn deposition and Jill Harth accuse dhim of sexual assault in 1997; he’s battled lawsuits over racial inequity as well.

Ivana retracted. I don’t know about Harth. As most lawyers know, the “lie” content in depositions in which someone has something to gain by doing it is not 100%, but it’s there to some degree in 100% of the depositions.

I’m confident no developer in the east has ever failed to be sued for racial discrimination some time or other, just as no major employer has.

One of my favorites is a friend of mine who operates several related businesses. he was accused of it by a disgruntled former employee. What the employee didn’t know is that the employer’s children are all adopted black children. The lawsuit didn’t have sufficient legs to get it anywhere.

Is there anybody else who laments that we had two candidates who said and did vile things, that we have one platform that is anti-immigration and another that’s pro-abortion?

Is there any chance that as Catholics we come together and be the salt and light we’re called to be?😦

Trump is not anti-immigration. He’s anti-illegal-immigration–big difference. I’m a legal immigrant citizen and am in the process of helping my brother immigrate, which, if you can believe it, takes about 12 years waiting in line. Illegal immigration isn’t fair.

I know the platorms and the rhetoric. I voted for the republican party platform. He would deport thousands already in this country and send some of them back to certain death. I oppose him as a Catholic on his stance on immigration.

I’m not ashamed to say that I’m not a conservative Catholic or a liberal Catholic or a republican Catholic: the Catholic comes first, always.

10000%. And I strongly opposed him, but this is a good post. I disagree on various issues on the Dem platform as well.

Catholics should not support illegal immigration. Illegal immigration isn’t safe, or fair.

As someone who has not only worked in immigration, you realize that illegal immigration while not “fair” is sometimes the only thing that keeps people alive? Deporting any of these illegal immigrants could be a death sentence.

It strikes me as really unempathetic to take that view, and I encourage you to read what the pope has said on this topic.

I don’t oppose enforcing the laws on the books but I think there’s room to reconsider the so-called Gang of Eight compromise for those already in the country.

Ivana Trump denies accusing Donald Trump of Rape. States she used the word “rape” in a deposition in an emotional sense.

Jill Harth did accuse Trump of sexual assault in 1997, just days after she lost a law suit against Trump and after she didn’t get a job from Trump….

Yes the same Jill Harth who in emails in 2015 and 2016 written to the Trump campaign and, provided by Trump’s office in response to her allegations expressed friendly feelings about Trump and even asked about a job helping to do his campaign trail makeup….Pfff…

The same Jill Harth who wrote in an August 2015 email forwarded by Trump’s campaign: “I also would like to show my support for Donald and his campaign. I am offering my services to do his grooming and getting him perfectly camera ready for photos and Hi-Definition TV. He knows better than anybody how important image is.”

Yes Jill Harth who in email from October 2015, praised Trump for “doing a tremendous job of shaking things up in the United States” and added: “I am definitely Team Trump!”

It’s been proven that Jill Harth’s 24yr allegations lacked any merit or veracity, and had massive credibility issues.

But hey…I have no evidence nor can I produce witnesses, but I can remember every detail of when Hillary groped me 30 years ago in a Walmart bathroom…

Let’s not forget the New York Times conducted a major investigation into Trump’s treatment of women and came up empty-handed. The Washington Post hired 40 investigative reporters to look into every aspect of Donald Trump’s life. All they could come up with was the Billy Bush tape…

What lawsuits over racial inequality are you referencing exactly? Do you mean the ones thrown-out of court or the ones Trump won?

I think you are going to see Trump moving that direction. He’s a compassionate person, I happen to believe, but the nation right now truly needs someone who puts their feet down and secures the border. We’ve done so many amnesties without stopping illegal immigration so the problems just recycle themselves. It’ll be different this time.
