Considering the lousy job the Catholic church in Massachusetts has done when it comes to children. That they would say anything is a surprise.
You can’t convince those who don’t know the truth, so stop trying.I follow the catholic church teachings until THEY dissent from Jesus’s teachings of Mercy. There is nothing wrong about gays or lesbians being adoptive parents. I stand by my previous posts.
Is that what is known as cognitive dissonance? We now have “gay” persons claiming to be authentic parents attending a Catholic parish while rejecting the authority of the Church. You can’t convince those who don’t know the truth, so stop trying.
There are 2 gay couples in our parish. They have children of their own, and adopted ones as well. They are in church every Sunday. Several of the children attend Catholic school where their parents fully participate. The adoptions were legal in every way.
Anybody can quote and interpret scripture… But in the end, actions speak louder than words.
Is today your day to be the Magisterium or is this a position you hold for life/into eternity? Do I ever get my day? When you take a day off?I follow the catholic church teachings until THEY dissent from Jesus’s teachings of Mercy. There is nothing wrong about gays or lesbians being adoptive parents. I appreciate that these are probably good people who are sincere in their efforts. However, as practicing Catholics, they have a moral obligation to inform themselves about the truth and what the Church teaches and no matter how you slice it, it’s not morally licit. Legal does not necessarily mean morally correct - look at the abortion issue for an example of that. You can’t convince those who don’t know the truth, so stop trying.

Hmmmm who is more Catholic? The gay couples who don’t use birth control or the majority of Catholic couples who do use it?
Both are objectively committing mortal sins.
Yes, in the sense that the law should not allow adults with serious disorders to care for kids. Are biologic children not removed from troubled homes currently under certain conditions? And if Gays being around children is such a bad thing, then shouldn’t there be a law against them having their own?
Perhaps the child should be removed if such a parent insists upon forcing a disordered way of acting on an impressionable child. If a parent has an emotional probelm that seriously afftects their child is it right and fair not to intervene? Does the child have no rights? If a gay woman has a baby, perhaps that baby should be forcibly removed from her care at birth, unless she swears to lead a chaste heterosexual life… After all, just being gay automatically makes the person a bad parent. I don’t believe this, but I know a lot of folk do.
Talking is a good way to make up for not acting.Considering the lousy job the Catholic church in Massachusetts has done when it comes to children. That they would say anything is a surprise.
Monty Python is neither watched nor appreciated by most conservatives. Made me spew beer out my nose though.![]()
