I have never heard of something so ridiculous. Of course God loves everyone equally, including “illegitimate” children, IVF children, etc. All I can say is that the vision you are speaking about cannot have been from God if it happened at all. It sounds to me like that vision was the result of an extremely guilty conscience, and not God at all. We are all children of God, no matter what our parents have done and we are all born of God’s will and with His love, equally. If what you have said were actually true, then there would be some sort of absurd ranking system for everyone according to the sins of their parents and we would all have to fight it out for God’s love. Ridiculous.
Here Here!

God loves all equally but approves of the actions of some more than others.
God loves all people unconditionally. This means there are no conditions needed to be met to merit His love.
God loves the worst sinner just as much as He loves the best saint.
Being Love, God can do nothing else.

This does not mean that He approves of all of our actions. There is a fundamental difference between love and approval. Some people call this “love the sinner, hate the sin.”

Anyone who states, “God hates these people or those people” does not understand basic Christianity.

Here are a couple of quotes about God as Love from C. S. Lewis that I really like:

“He [God] has paid us the intolerable compliment of loving us, in the deepest, most tragic, most inexorable sense. … Love, in its own nature, demands the perfecting of the beloved; … mere “kindness” which tolerates anything except suffering in its object is, in that respect, at the opposite pole from Love.”

“You ask for a loving God; you have one … not a senile benevolence that drowsily wishes you to be happy in your own way, not the cold philanthropy of a conscientious magistrate, not the care of a host who feels responsible for the comfort of his guests, but the CONSUMING FIRE HIMSELF, the Love that made the worlds, persistent as the artist’s love for a child, jealous, inexorable, exacting as love between the sexes…”

The main thing I saw and wanted to respond to was the idea that no matter what is done to create a child that God loves the child all equally. That I dont think is true. God cannot feel the same about a legitimate child as He does about an illegitimate child another concern would be a child born from IVF this again God could not feel or treat the same as a legitimate child.
Interesting that your God has a hierarchy in that he loves some children more than others. 😃

Sometimes a Catholic school is just for an education, and not for the Catholicism. People may think it a waste, but others think it better than public school.

In your humble opinion.

History is determined by the lecturer 😃 In this instance I only know what I have been taught and can support. If it disagrees with what you believe then we are having a disagreement. Ignorance on the subject is not the issue.

While true around 350AD, i’m not sure it was the case pre 350AD. The act of homosexual sex was a mixed bag. It always had a negative stigma floating around it but people were accepting of the practice. Later, still pre 350AD, the act was used on slaves only.

That’s tough to tell. The reason we know homosexuality was even accepted was because of the artwork left behind from the time period. While it is impossible to deny that Christianity played a role, to what extent did they affect government? From what I know, very little at the time, pre 350AD.

If you are attracted physically and emotionally to the opposite sex then you are a homosexual, either making you gay or a lesbian. You can be gay without sin as long as you don’t commit the acts.

Assume both cases.

What sin have gays committed? Why is it a sin? Is it because a book an important figure say so? If so then what is their meaning in believing gay acts are sinful? Should you think the same way? Being good is exactly that, living your life as best you can to be a productive member of society. Whether you are gay or straight has no bearing on this.
but gays aren’t a productive member of society, simple because they can’t reproduce. second, in an attempt to become parents both bearing the same sexes, they cannot even hope to equal the emotional (name removed by moderator)ut a father AND mother would give to a child. yes, these have psychological implication we as a society doesn’t even want to admit for fear of being called a bigot. just to give in the whims of a few, we the many have chosen to subjugate the truth

and as far as the historicity of homosexuality, gays have been accepted in different societies in different times of the past. don’t play the modern push for “gay rights” as a modern enlightenment of something that was never accepted in the past. its not. fact is, it was accepted in the past and every civilization that accepted homosexuality eventually vanished. why? part of the downfall of empires is the crumbling of the moral fabric of society. and part of this crumbling is the acceptance of homosexuality. this eventually lead to their downfall

All people are unique and all are loved uniquely according to the justice due their virtue. That means they are not loved equally. You must quit getting your religious directions from the American Constitution it says nowhere in the Bible that God loves everyone equally. This is one of those instances when the protestant writers of the Constitution got their theology wrong.

Men are not created or loved equally. Not all people are the children of God. You must be baptized to become a child or God. Heaven and the experience of Heaven will be unique to each individual there is nothing and no one in Heaven equal except the three persons in God.

It actually won’t…my wifes an A+ Cafeteria Catholic.

Everyone is a child of God. Jesus was a Jew, He was a child of God. Yes, He was babtized, but probably not according to Catholic ritual.

Ever heard of Unconditional Love? God loves us in spite of our stupidity, unconditionally.

If God IS love itself, then He must love everyone equally. He does not diminish the greatness of His essence (love) to individuals based upon their worthiness of it. This is precisely WHY Jesus came to die on the cross, because NONE of us were worthy of Love/God, yet He died “once, for ALL” because of the magnitude of His love for every single one of us. Some choose to accept that love and some choose to deny it, but it is constant, unchanging and always there.

They have to cover the crucifixes and statues??? Where in MO law does it say that??? That is outrageous. They should refuse to have the classes.
I can’t remember exactly (it was the St. Louis area, though). It was in the paper several years ago, showed a summer school class and the crucifix was covered. The caption was something along the lines of “St. soandso school teaching summer school classes for local public school children. Due to receiving tax dollars, all religious objects are removed or covered.” I can’t remember the details of the article itself.

In Christ,

Ellen

My wifes a Catholic, my kids are in Catholic school. I’ve agreed to grin and bear it when they come home talking about Jesus…but there will come a time, when my kids look to me for the real deal about everything they’ve been told about God.
Mabe there will come a time when you’ll look to your kids for the real deal about what they’ve been told about God :))

This just isn’t true. Reproduction can come from a variety of alternative methods, generally IVF or adoption. Either one propagates the ideologies of the parents, that which is generally thought of as being the most important. Aside from reproduction, gays can still physically work any job they wish and contribute to society economically. A gay man in the army can still die for your right to call them unproductive members of society, as long as they don’t tell anyone they’re gay. Do you still think gays aren’t contributing to society?

This is very much your opinion and not fact. How did you learn about the family dynamic of a gay couple? Perhaps you have read some studies or have gay parents? Most studies I find are similar to usatoday.com/news/health/2009-11-05-gayparents05_ST_N.htm Perhaps you can show me some evidence that supports your idea.

This is an outrageous claim. How does being gay collapse society? It doesn’t. Do you honestly think this is true? Can you even remotely prove this?

My “personal” opinion Lynx. Society has always been based on the Traditional family equation, man, woman, children. When we start losing Traditional structure, society suffers. The Feminist movement has also helped this along throughout the world. No I am not saying I oppose all Feminism, I just haven’t figured out all the answers yet. I think if we look at the societies of such Empires as Rome etc., we see they began with definite structure of what was allowed and what wasn’t. The looser the laws and beliefs became, the looser knit the socities became, until there was nothing to hold them together.

I appreciate the premise 😉

It is being able to adapt and change with the times that keeps species and ideologies alive. Look at the Catholic church and science. I have a feeling that society will do just fine.

How?

While a changing culture couldn’t have hurt, I doubt it was the only reason en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_of_the_Roman_Empire#Theories_of_a_fall.2C_decline.2C_transition_and_continuity

Wow so many misunderstandings to iron out where to start.

First Jesus was born a Jew but you really cant say He is Jewish or really ever was Jewish He is God and above a member of a religion. Jesus is not a child of God but God. The second person of the blessed trinity and a human nature this is not divisible as we are beginning to see throughout the world that people are talking about Jesus as if he were maybe a little more human then divine.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the way in which the Divine Nature of God is united for all eternity to the humanity of Jesus at conception the human soul of Jesus was in beatific vision. So Jesus is God. The only person who ever spoke from Jesus was God. All actions of Jesus are the actions of God as a human not a human as God.

Jesus is even more then this. Jesus is the life of the Blessed Trinity for it is impossible for one person in God to do or know something the others do not. So we can also say Jesus is the incarnation of the Blessed Trinity. God the Father may seek to give credit for redemption to God the Son as the Son seeks to give credit to the Father for creation but in the end all persons in God have only one nature and that entire divine nature is in Jesus.

There is no equality in Heaven. God does not love us all equally because he does not love us infinitely. The 3 persons in God love each other infinitely. He loves us each according to what we can handle. All unique. There cannot be 9 choirs of angels if they are all equal. You need to read more books then the Bible to find out what has been going on inside the Body of Christ for the last 2000 years.

Angels, archangels, virtues, thrones, dominations, pricipalities, powers, Seraphim, Cherubim. These are the choirs of angels. We are warned by St. Paul that we are in a battle between the mystical body of Christ and the Principalities and Powers. These are the two choirs of angels who contained most of the fallen angels. We are for the most part being molded to take the specific place lost by a particular fallen angel and inherit all that would have been theirs. If they could come back would we be evicted.

These demonic ideas that devils are serving God by choice or that they may later be forgiven are absolutely not Catholic teaching. They chose to reject God and sealed their fate in one free choice with full and sufficient knowledge capable of judgement. Mankind is given a lifetime of choices and those damned held out the rejection of God till the bitter end.

Wake up we need ourselve to become saints if we want to find salvation it is not as free as you think. There is a price to be paid for every soul that can be saved that is not yet alive in grace. We must pay that price so that God will give them the grace to come to Him, Jesus to find complete life and it overflowing.

A lot of what you said here is not only NOT biblical, but actually flat-out contradicts the Bible. Yes, sorry to say, Jesus was Jewish. He was a practicing Jew, period.

The fact that there are 9 choirs of angels (assuming this is not merely allegory) does not mean that God loves some any less than others, just that they have different roles. not only that, but the angels were created specifically to serve God and worship Him, end of story. The human role in the history of the universe is much more complex and much more akin to a parent/child relationship. The Bible likens our relationship to God as a parent/child relationship many, many times and for a reason. That is why He is called Abba (Daddy), or Father. Look at the story of the prodigal son, for goodness sake. This story proves that God can love us deeply despite his disapproval of our actions. Any parent will tell you that regardless of whether or not they approve of one child’s actions over another’s, they love all of their children equally.

And the Bible (Jesus, John) says quite concisely and clearly what we need to do for salvation and it is not as difficult as you would like to think. Some people merely like the idea that they are right and everyone else is wrong and going to burn in Hell. Legalism makes many people feel superior, much like the Pharasees who irked Jesus so.

Are you for real? What crystal ball did you read that from? 😦

Christianity 101…Jesus paid the price. The price has been paid. 🤷

Jesus because He is God is the object of worship of the Jews and therefore although maintaining the observances of a Jew is above membership in Judaism. The same is true today we cannot say Jesus is a Catholic He is the object of our worship.

About our needing to assist others to salvation and paying a price to God to do so which is the act of sharing in the redemptive work of Christ. I am not the first person to say this I was repeating a statement used often by Archbishop Sheen who spoke about the price on every human soul. Certainly the grace we earn for another is from the stockpile of grace won by Christ. But an individual who is not in a state of grace has no ability of earning grace for themselves and need our assistance to come to life again.

We all can share in the work of redemption this is a Catholic and Orthodox belief. I understand most protestants do not accept this concept. But many dont think that saints or angels can be treated with devotion or come to our assistance another Catholic and Orthodox belief. Even some protestants believe that one.
