I wish I knew which of those who died were Catholic so I could pray for their souls in purgatory (if that is where they were headed).
Once we die, we are all Catholic. Pray for the deceased regardless of their religious affiliation.I wish I knew which of those who died were Catholic so I could pray for their souls in purgatory (if that is where they were headed).
Amen.Once we die, we are all Catholic. Pray for the deceased regardless of their religious affiliation.
Ok you won the War of 1812. Lucky for the United StatesTechnically speaking, New Orleans was after the War of 1812 because it occurred *after *the treaty.
So what you’re saying is that attempting to annex an entire country and not gaining anything doesn’t count as getting your but kicked? You have to suspend quite a bit of logic to get to that.
The British did not take over the US because they weren’t interested. The US invaded Canada, not the other way around. Britain was concerned with protecting it’s territories (BNA) and did that extremely successfully, and did no more.
Which part exactly did you win again?
:extrahappy:Ok you won the War of 1812. Lucky for the United States
Happy now?
I hope so!:extrahappy:
Does that mean that we can move on?
There was already a law prohibiting him from carrying his weapon into the theater. He broke that law. So your solution seems to be to take away the weapons of law abiding citizens, so this man who was already breaking the law couldn’t break more laws? The theater had a sign that said it was a gun free zone.
They are more commonly called Victim Zones, because only criminals carry weapons and it ends up being like shooting fish in a barrel. If I, a law abiding citizen go somewhere with my weapon and it is a victim zone, I have to decide if I want to lock my weapon in my car or leave.Private business can request that you do not take a weapon into their business. But the Second Amendment cannot deny our citizens their basic rights.
No, simply stating that if someone is already breaking the law, a new law will not stop them.
No, not the Army. That is not what the Second Amendment is about.
So the 2nd amendment does not apply to theaters? That is why they got killed. There was already a law prohibiting him from carrying his weapon into the theater. He broke that law. So your solution seems to be to take away the weapons of law abiding citizens, so this man who was already breaking the law couldn’t break more laws?![]()
So private businesses are above the 2nd amendment.Private business can request that you do not take a weapon into their business.
So if someone is breaking the law in something else, putting a new law about drunken driving will not stop road accidents? It does not seem to be true as statistics say.No, simply stating that if someone is already breaking the law, a new law will not stop them.
Yes, it is the Army. You just stated without justifying. I am justifying. The 2nd amendment states clearly the the guns are intended to defend the Community. As clear as water. No, not the Army. That is not what the Second Amendment is about.
As far as I know and I only know the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, as an average Joe, a machine gun is a gun and it is protected by the 2nd amendment. As for Federal Regulation they are all under the 2nd amendment and may be unconstitutional. You do realize that you would need at least a Type 3 Federal Firearms License, which requires a heavy fee (in some cases, $3,000 and up), and a very thorough background check by the BATF?

Some have the misconception that the average Joe can just buy a machine gun on a whim.
Missed the point by a wide margin !!!Nice find!
Detroit is a speech figure called metonymy.Isn’t this thread getting off topic???
Anyway------
I LIKE Detroit!!! Heyyyyyy!!!![]()
For instance, Iraq and Afghanistan. The government is powerless so you may commit crimes everyday by the dozen. But people are free. Most of the civilizations who had the most freedom also had the least government.
Irony?
No, sorry, it’s been part of Federal Law since 1934.As far as I know and I only know the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, as an average Joe, a machine gun is a gun and it is protected by the 2nd amendment. As for Federal Regulation they are all under the 2nd amendment and may be unconstitutional.![]()

I guess you know even less about history than I had thought - and I thought I was being uncharitable. The " battle of Fort McHenry" was, in fact, no battle at all. British guns had range on American cannon, and stood off out of U.S. range, bombarding the fort, which returned no fire.
Interestingly, when the British reached Washington, their generals sat down to the meal which Madison had just abandoned in his haste to run from the capital.
Many Americans are unaware that Vietnam was the second, not the first war America lost.
Wouldn’t that make Canada the loser?Maybe we can give Detroit and Chicago to Canada and call it even.
Shhhhhhh, Detroit and Chicago are wonderful places. Canada would be delighted to have them…Wouldn’t that make Canada the loser?
Do you think they might pay us for it? Now that Canadians are richer than Americans (thanks Barack) maybe they can help a brother out.Shhhhhhh, Detroit and Chicago are wonderful places. Canada would be delighted to have them…
That is a good idea. I mean, they would be getting a heck of a bargain. I mean, Detroit is an industrial powerhouse and Chicago is a the breeding ground of world class politicians. But, to make amends for the atrocities committed by the US in the war of 1812, they should get these two cities as a token of our remorse and apology.Do you think they might pay us for it?
