This is an opportunity for us all to rest and re-group.
I am usually so freaking busy, including at Mass (playing organ/piano, which means preparing and practicing for this ministry).
It is WONDERFUL to be able to come home from work and have absolutely NOTHING to do except cook a little dinner and relax! THANK YOU, LORD!! Pretty much everything is cancelled!!
And I love having an excuse to use up EVERYTHING in my freezer, fridge, and cupboards! So much fun to be creative (and have TIME to be creative) with food and make recipes from what I have on hand instead of shopping for more and/or going out for meals.
I still have to work (as do many of us, including my husband who works from home), and that’s pretty exhausting because I work in microbiology in a hospital lab and we are HOPPING!
And being home with no obligations gives me a perfect excuse to read my Bible and other devotional books, and pray!
We do have Mass in our city, but I don’t plan to attend but will gratefully take the exemption. I’m over 60, and because of long hours and short staffing at work, I’m quite exhausted, and that gives viruses a good opportunity to invade. So I’m resting this one out and thanking the Good Lord for the chance to “pause” for a while and re-group and re-think the direction of my life and my relationship with God and my Church family.
