Masturbation: NOT A SIN

I do quite agree that masturbation is a sin, but the question is - how many of you here who are citing catholic vatican II documents everyday and night are free from this sin.
One way or the other you must have been masturbating willynilly.
If this is the case how many time do you go to confession after each masturbation.
Brothers and sisters don’t mess around with God.

Do you prefer Masturbation to Having real sex with a girl- or vice versa?
Please, let us be realistic here , if you do masturbate - learn to keep quiet on this forum and make research on history of masturbation.

From my understanding, “Oral Sex” isn’t wrong. Oral Sex can be used as a “type” of fore play. But in the end a man must climax inside his wife during Intercourse and not during Oral Sex. This way the couple is always open to “life”.

If Oral sex isn`t wrong for married couples, then it isnt wrong for anyone of adult age, married or not. The mouth is not a sex organ I am sorry I dont buy that probably I am wrong

Some people are married & also have girlfriends & boyfriends that they have sex with & still they masturbate

Yes… it was not Catholicism that would lead a man like Hitler to torture and kill Jews. But Protestantism has many such tales.

I disagree, Man is weak & God knows it, how many single men do U think are not having sex about 1%. God Knows that men are going to get into things . Most men ae prone to masturbate along with other things

the urge to slug someone can be kinda strong sometimes too… like when certain posters say really obnoxious things… :eek:

should we not try to control THAT kind of urge??

is this 1% an official statistic or just your guestimate?

If it is a true statistic… and i wouldn’t doubt it…

I am thankful, all over again, that i am not involved with a guy… and haven’t been for many, many yrs… (at least not intimately)…

and probably never will be…

My body despises :mad: me for this … 😃

So, what you are saying is that we should not strive to be better? We will sin, so we shouldn’t bother trying to avoid it? The beauty of God’s graced is that even he knows we will fall, he is always there to pull us out of the slimy pits.

Thats not what I am saying, there are many catholic men who have wrestled with it for many years & never were able to rid themselves of the desire to masturbate, I think it is ingrained.

Not that we should, I think we have to, for most, the sex drive is too strong for them to overcome.
 
Its always very interesting to see the so called positives of Masturbation highlighted when we’re seeking to endulge in fleshly activity and want to be justified in our actions.

Firstly : Even in the world the unregenerate finds the act of maturbation a shameful thing.
In the UK to call someone a “Wanker” refers to a person who masturbates. Its an insulting term and would result in great offence to anyone. We don’t find people boasting about the act of maturbation although we find the unregenerate boasting about all manner of sexual conquest. So its evident that in the world this act is considered something to be kept secret and is shameful (regardless of what a book or web site will tell us).

Second : The Scriptures tell us that the things of the World, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life war against the Christian. Masturbation is a result of a need to endulge the lust of the flesh, the body craves a release and in the act of masturbation we submit ourselves to that craving thus submitting ourselves to the flesh. In my experience as a soldier I found that engaging in this act did not actually result in long term relief. In fact the more you engage in this practice the more you need to do it.

Now like a smoker your hooked, Ask yourself who you are now enslaved to “the Spirit” or "the flesh.

Third: The New Testament makes reference to “uncleaness” as a sinful action and there is a clear link with the Old Testament references to the “uncleaness” mentioned in the Law of Moses. We find that even a night time emission of semen made a man “unclean” and this was obviously not a moral action on his part as he was asleep and unaware of what was happening.

Finally: Having been in a situation of having a regular craving for this act and feeling very condemned I, like many, tried to stop, failed, and so then tried to find some justification for the act in order to be free of guilt. The enemy will tell you “you can’t overcome this so you might as well just give in and get on with it”.

The reality is that “no temptation is unique and a way out is always available”

In my experience giving this up is like giving up smoking, once you’ve got past a period of four weeks the craving becomes less.

The enemy will tell you throughout this “cold turkey” period “that it’ll never get better so just give in” but that is a lie.

Obviously prayer, fasting and watching our excellent disciplines for aiding a person through this period.
