The white supremecist groups organized the gathering, and they were not secretive about it. It was never implied that it was organized by some local benevolent Friends of Our Old Bronze Statues group.

There was no way anyone at that protest was unaware who was organizing it, either. Let’s not imply that anybody showed up with an “oh, I had* no idea* what sort of people were behind this pro-statue rally!” Someone would have to be monumentally thick to get themselves in that position or just not care what sort of political bedfellows they were making.
Yes they organized it and got the permit and met with officials 2 weeks before the
rally in order to have a plan to try to prevent the events that unfolded.
The police failed to keep the counter protesters apart from the ones who had the
permit to rally.

Wrong. The permit has already been posted in this thread.
If they had a permit why were they at the rally organized by the other group.

They wouldn’t grant two permits for the same park would they?

Good. After all the denials an admission: they had a permit.
They did not need a permit to counter protest.
AFAIK there was no confrontation in Emancipation Park; the counter protestors did not disrupt the rally within the park.
The terrorist incident happened on 4th which runs street adjacent to Justice park, where conterprotestors had a permit.
Do you have something to prove where the main confrontation happened - not the
incident with Fields?

It is not clear that counter-protestors were allowed in the park.
It is not clear that there was any confrontation in Emancipation Park or any disruption inside the park.

I think that confrontations happened outside the park as people were entering or leaving the planned rally. The level of intimidation was high, but the degree and share of violence is less clear.

It is interesting that while there were many carrying guns, I have not heard a report of gun fire. Or any detailed injury reports. The salient feature of the event was the but - apart from the murder/terrorist incident. And that came from the alt-right, well-removed from Emancipation Park.
It is clear enough from eye witness testimonies, many of who happened to be reporters that there were attempts to physically disrupt the rally at Emancipation Park, i.e., they were attempting to get passed barricades and were throwing items towards the “Unite the Right” rally attendees.

It is also clear that because rally attendees were then pushed out of Emancipation Park by police that these individuals were no longer barricaded, and it is then when the ensuing violence began in earnest.

A state of emergency was called way before Heather Heyer was killed.

You may want to check out the videos that showed the state police pushing the protesters toward the antifa. Whoever was in charge of the state police wanted the conflict to happen which would then be blamed on the protesters.

While insisting that he is draining one swamp, President Trump is creating another. The muck is getting deeper and deeper and one day his presidency may sink into the mire.

I’m with the mayor. Tensions are high right now. Trump has not done much to ease it. In fact, he’s widening the divide. Not to mention, we’ve all seen his rallies. I don’t know if these new rallies have shown to become violent like the ones he held during the campaign, but it definitely is something he shouldn’t risk.

Besides, these rallies are literally held to boost trumps ego. His core base attends and tells him he’s the prettiest girl at the ball. I’d like to think trump can put that off a little while.
Yet, you were willing to tolerate all of the fawning over Barack Hussein Obama.

So you don’t have a leg to stand on.

I’m disappointed you didn’t even respond to the commentary I wrote. You already made this claim (did you even the article?).

What you were referencing showed a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in a laborious effort to try and show corruption with President Trump.

If only they were this diligent when Obama was in office.

And the president.

The fact is the man has milked his position for everything he can to profit from it.
Why isn’t he staying at the White House, the official residence of the President of the United States? Why is he spending millions of our tax payer dollars on security staying at his own resorts (and again, making a huge profit on raising his membership prices).

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington is suing.

Do we all agree that we need a stable mature moral leader who respects the law?

I too like another poster, am weary of your gotcha sniping insults and attacks instead of discussing the talking points.

I apologize for stooping to your level. It won’t happen again.

I am here to share intelligent information so that people can consider the bigger picture, and stand up against bigotry and hatred.

Stooping to MY level? What a joyful and charitable comment!

At the moment, the White House is undergoing extensive repairs and renovation that has been put off for far too long.

The Mar-A-Lago visits may have been more vacation than not, and they were obviously hypocritical considering all the criticism Trump leveled at Obama for taking time off of work, but leaving the White House to the electricians, plumbers and carpenters for two weeks plus a weekend was an act of stewardship towards the Executive Mansion that deserve credit, not rebuke. He did it while Congress is on recess. If you cannot give him credit, at least give him a pass.

Sometimes, he’s wrong. Sometimes, he’s right. Being out of the White House right now was the right thing to do.

Wow you seem to show a laborious effort to defend trump. Are you saying this man is NOT corrupt??!!

Even without all the investigations taking place, history speaks for itself.
Listen to the words out of his own mouth.
Read David Cay Johnston’s The Making of Donald Trump, then get back to me.

This is a low-quality response to what I wrote.

Well, let’s see how the court cases turn out.

But it really wasn’t much to defeat the vanify fair piece that struggled to assert their agenda, which was ultimately a good thing and saved it from being fake news.

In the current bureaucracy, investigations into the executive are very standard.

Yes, we all know the White House is being renovated now, what about the rest of the time he’s been in office (or supposed to have been)

Tracking the President’s Visits to Trump Properties January thru August 14th.
Ethics experts say Trump’s visits to properties owned, managed or branded by the Trump Organization amount to free publicity for the company and blur the line between his family business and presidential duties.

70
Number of days on which he visited at least one Trump property

138
Number of days he did not visit a Trump property

One of the things pointed out: Just because Trump isn’t at the White House doesn’t mean he’s not working.

Same could have potentially been said of Obama.

In Trump’s case, he’s already done a lot, and could do more if Congress could its act together.

Another smear piece.
I wrote a counter to it.

If you read it carefully, they are really struggling to smear. My fav was when they made the leap from little cases on finance procedure to the court overruling the revised refugee written by the Obama Administration (that little detail also left out).

It’s reaching and though not its intention does show Trump’s Administration has a much cleaner bill of health for now than they’d like. 😃

Of course, it beats outright lying…🤷

You don’t think Obama helped to bring us to the divisiveness we see today?

He wasn’t trying to preserve the nation. He wanted to radically change America.
He preserved the union, like all the “business as usual” presidents before him. There may have been polarization, buy there was not chaos, which is what we were discussing.
