You should get paid for the consistent damage control you do for Trump, seriously you’re doing Kellyannes job. Not sure why you insist on defending buffoonery and incompetence.

Also - they ARE lies, we don’t just think that. Facts exist.
and you should get paid for the damage control you do!

Anyone is welcome to their opinion on his performance as senator.

I just think calling a veteran spineless is a bit much. Especially one who served in an era when men were fleeing to Canada to dodge the draft.
being a spineless politician does not equate to being spineless in the line of military duty does it?

It’s like a cult honestly.
It really is. They keep repeating the same lines over and over, like self-hypnosis. Reminds me of when I was LDS and people would share their testimony. “I know this is the true church” “All the negative things said about JS are malicious lies” “I know he is the prophet” “I know the BOM is true” etc

and Hillary and Bernie did not have their fans?

the media certainly helps to hype these candidates.

this is the lamest argument yet. I guess y’all are running out of ideas.
you repeat the same arguments over and over again.

It’s like a cult honestly.
Reminds me of some of the fundamentalist protestants refusing to vote for Romney because, they adjudged, Mormonism “is a cult”. Some undoubtedly say the same thing about Catholicism.

For some, anybody who doesn’t agree with their worldview is “in a cult”. Even those who opposed Obama didn’t say that. More accurately, they identified him with a political movement.

And so it is with Trump. He just represents a political movement of which some are well persuaded.

If McCain had a spine he would have run a better campaign in 2008 and beat Obama and maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess.
He didn’t lose because of lack of spine. He made poor decisions, like his choice for VP.

You ought to be ashamed calling him spineless.

not all news from The National Enquirer is fake news.
Well, that’s a ringing endorsement!
What proof do you have that Breitbart is fake news and CNN not fake news?
Breitbart News Network (known commonly as Breitbart News, Breitbart or Breitbart.com) is a far-right[a] American news, opinion and commentary[10][11] website founded in 2007 by conservative commentator and entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart. Breitbart News is known to periodically publish falsehoods and conspiracy theories,** as well as intentionally misleading stories.[19]

notice it says to tell the TRUTH! that is exactly what is being questioned in today’s media. why should I believe the media when I know it is out to destroy him?
The truth of the media is being questioned most vigorously by the Trump true believers who want so badly to confirm Trump’s attempts to discredit that media. They don’t want to see anything that challenges their belief in Trump. But the rest of us generally believe the factual basis of the news, if not the editorial content.

Trump isn’t suppressing the free press. Suppression would be to outlaw them, and he certainly isn’t doing that.

I agree. I wouldn’t argue if someone said he was undermining them, but he hasn’t suppressed them.

Oh, come on, Michael. 7 Sorrows said themselves that they were critical of McCain, the politician, not McCain, the war veteran. One is entitled to their opinion on this matter. After all, choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate, especially if he didn’t really think she was qualified, but just because he hoped she would gain women’s votes, is a kind of spineless decision. And what about his hawkish ideas concerning foreign policy? In my view, McCain should not be off limits to criticism as a politician just because he was a prisoner-of-war veteran.

Undermining is a form of suppression.

If the story gets out, but no one believes it, it’s the same as the story not getting out.

I disagree. McCain wouldn’t have made the remark at all if he wasn’t implying that Trump is behaving in the same way dictators do by suppressing the free press. And I partially agree with him since I think Trump, if not a dictator, has an authoritarian personality.
You can’t disagree that Sen McCain said, “And I’m not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I’m just saying we need to learn the lessons of history.” That’s what he said.

But maybe you disagree with what McCain said about what he is not saying and you think McCain is actually saying DJT behaves in such a manner or at least has the personality tendencies to do so.

On that last part I would agree. As for me, the authoritarian personality is frankly what is concerning to me. And I am troubled for instance by his love affair with an authoritarian such as Putin (although I still wonder if he kisses up to Putin only because Putin has something on him) and his statement, “I alone can fix it” and his words on video tape about what he can do to women, “I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the *****. You can do anything.”

When the POTUS thinks he alone can fix it and he can do anything, that raises a red flag to me.

Did you look at the citations? Number 11:
“Is Breitbart.com Becoming the Media Arm of the ‘Alt-Right’?”. Southern Poverty Law Center. Retrieved November 11, 2016.

How about 19:
Viveca Novak (July 21, 2010). “Shirley Sherrod’s Contextual Nightmare”. FactCheck.org. Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. We’ve posted no shortage of pieces on political attacks that leave context on the cutting room floor to give the public a misleading impression. … The latest victim of the missing context trick is U.S. Department of Agriculture employee Shirley Sherrod. … a clip of several minutes of her roughly 45-minute speech surfaced on conservative Andrew Breitbart’s website, where he labeled her remarks ‘racist’ and proof of “bigotry” on the part of the NAACP. … It quickly became clear that the climax, not to mention the moral, of Sherrod’s tale had been edited out of the version Breitbart posted.

he ran a half hearted campaign and I do not feel ashamed of criticizing John McCain, the politician.

If the story gets out, but no one believes it, it’s the same as the story not getting out.
I would agree. It’s a more subtle way is all. Or in DJT’s case maybe not so subtle given that he is constantly in such a mode.

Not true, not true at all. A dictator doesn’t allow even the reporting whether it may be believed or not, which is why they do their best to make sure it doesn’t see the light of day. And again, it’s done one the quiet with legal systems and monopolies, it’s not done by calls of ‘fake news’.

When someone reports something, and they are being silenced on the quiet (Such as in Europe with hate speech laws) those are your first signs. Which is why I find it incredibly Ironic that Trump could be accused of this when there are far more serious signs of it that people are ignoring and have been ignoring in place like Europe and even in Australia with laws like 18C.

This is silencing free press - politico.eu/article/france-to-sanction-misleading-anti-abortion-websites/

Who determines what’s a misleading claim?

Trump should be allowed to call out bias and dishonest reporting. Doing so is not silencing them. Big difference.

I hope this has helped

God Bless You
