This is the type of acceptance the groups are looking for, some Christian sects follow it and more are each day.

It is an outstanding movie everyone should watch. I saw it a month or so ago and it was very well done to toss all stereotypes away.

 👍

I don’t eat at McDonald’s anyway…their food is horrible. 😛

You know I love ya, but I completely disagree with your assessment of McDonald’s food. Supersize Me might just as well have been made my Michael Moore!

Besides, it’s not meant to be eaten three times a day, every day! Hello! Personal responsibility, party of one! And you can’t equate serving a simple little burger with the sin of homosexuality.

Well, maybe some people can, but…
Now if they sold sushi…😉 😛

The thing is…from what I gathered…McDonald’s isn’t supporting anything–an exec can sit on any board he/she chooses…it doesn’t mean that McDonald’s is backing anything.

And no, I agree with you–I’m not equating the two…but they are not exactly looking out for the welfare of others by contaminating their foods with oils that take a person 102 days to digest? Why I stated that is that it shows that they don’t really care about people…similiar to tobacco companies. It’s not that far off in my opinion–yes, personal responsibility…but what I’m trying to point out is that they don’t really care about their customers. I don’t get that sense about this company. So, if they were to jump on a bandwagon that goes against my religous views, it would not surprise me.

Whether you keep it in the bedroom or not, in the closet or not, homosexuality is still a mortal sin. You are putting your ‘loved one’s’ soul in jeopardy as well as your own.

Once more, it is NOT kindness nor charity to confirm a sinner in his sin.
It NOT kindness to spread discrimnation or support it. You might to want to re-read my posts on what the catechism teaches on this subject instead of picking out what you want to use as an excuse to be rude. There is no room in the Church for bigotry. There is a difference between pointing out sin as a Catholic and just being a plain bigot.

:twocents:

Exactly, WND articles posted here by a now moderated member are quite deviance and full of homophobia of the worst kind. As a source, WND takes extreme stances in their flame-inducing arguments.
homophobia of the worse kind  I’m actually shocked. Are we in the same Church?

Homosexuals are called to celibacy. I know the church’s teachings.

I am not afraid of homosexuals. I am afraid for them, and for the vulnerable and confused young people they are actively trying to subvert.

Because the marriage/spiritual union has not opened for them yet. That is a chicken/egg argument. There is no subversion going on. There is a cry out for acceptance of who they are. The “called to celibacy” argument is a way to sweep it under the carpet and not acknowledge it exists. 😦

Well, WND is not a Catholic publication, but one that follows a political agenda, their stances speak out to a subset of the population.

Excuse me???
I’m a single Catholic woman. It hasn’t been in God’s will and timing for me to be married yet.
I AM CALLED TO CELIBACY.

Everyone who is not in a marriage between one man and one woman IS CALLED TO CELIBACY!

New Ulm, your profile here says that you are Catholic. You are not in agreement with the Catholic Church in what you espouse here in the forums.

If you haven’t read Good News for Sex and Marriage, by Christopher West. I highly recommend it to you. Your profile says you are a life long Catholic, yet you are lacking in some basic Catholic teaching on sexuality. I don’t fault you for it, you are not alone.

Here is a good resource for Catholics struggling with SSA.

As this thread is about same-gender relationships, that is what is about. Yet while different-gender relationships have the option of legal lifelong unions, same-gender ones do not. Most want a lifelong, monogamous relationship (with its ups and downs like different-gender relationships). That option is not available now and is being fought against by many for illogical reasons. They would not have to be celeblite until marriage until they have the option (at least from the state and federal government). Allow them legal unions and then sex outside of marriage would not be a scandal.

Why can’t heterosexuals keep it in the bedroom?
Why must heterosexuals be in my face?
Why must **your ** children have to see it?
WHY MUST anyones sexual desires be in my face-both “sides” are equally in my face and it is getting to be quite annoying

flip the channel and i get garbage on mtv promoting hetero sex flip it again and i get logo promoting the homosexual sex

eh

I DO NOT have that “option.” Unless someone wants to marry me, I will and will remain a SINGLE Catholic woman. I am called to celibacy until I die.

Do I feel that is unfair? If someone doesn’t want to marry me, MY CHURCH says I am to remain CELIBATE. It’s my choice to be a Catholic. Some of us have little crosses to bear. Living a celibate life can be one.

(And, btw, I won’t die if I don’t get any.)

May I ask how the lawsuit turned out? If you were fired for legally changing your name, I would imagine you’d have a good case. On the other hand if you falsified those documents, you were fired for that, not for “being gay”.
It is perfectly legal to fire someone for being transsexual in my current state.

They didn’t fire me because of the documents mismatch, as you say there is nothing illegal with that. What they fired me for was the ‘logistical issues involved with having a person with your medical condition working at this facility.’

Wow, when ever I see a thread on the topic of homosexuality, I am amazed at how many posters defend this perversion and make apologies for it, mainly posts from USA.
Has the homosexual agenda grabbed so tight in the USA that even its stench has permeated the minds of otherwise intelligent and moral Catholics?
Yes we all agree on the teachings as per the CCC but we don’t lie down and allow perversions to become acceptable behaviour, we have a duty to proclaim the truth!

What are you talking about? I’ve heard plenty of logical reasons given. Just because you don’t understand them and/or refuse to believe them, doesn’t make them illogical.

Touchy subject. Could you please tell me your opinion? Is homosexuality a choice or is it something you are born to be?

My only question is, will they change the name of the happy meal??
