I lived the matter.
We had this hanging over our head for six long years.
And now we don’t.

Exactly what is your dog in this fight?
Why are you so anxious to make Obama/the Dems/HRC “right”?
The HHS, for absolutely no good reason, attempted to dictate to the rest of us on whether we’re allowed to practice our faith in the workplace and live out our Christian mission.
It was a direct violation of the First Amendment.
It would have forced employers to violate their conscience or go out of business.

But you’re okay with this.

Weird.

Don’t know what you mean by moving on. Some of the Democratic leaders have been voted out in the primaries. Don’t hear too much of Pelosi either.

FWIW, Trump is a public figure and the courts tend to treat them differently in regards libel and defamation charges. There is a line but generally authors of books, for example, claim and get First Amendment protection.

Before the ACA insurance routinely covered birth control without the politics. That didn’t bother you then?

Moving on from the McCain situation, Trump has moved on and is focused on helping the nation.

My house lost all its value during the real estate recession in the Obama years.
Here is a nice tool.

Looking at the Phoenix area, as an example,
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

there was a bump in prices and sales just before the Bush recession, followed by a major dip in it when the recession hit. Precise were vary close to pre-bump/recession trend lines by 2013, and sales already. Sales were ~20% lower than the pre-bump/recession trend lines still in 2014 but had risen back since then.
I don’t need a TOOL to understand the real estate recession that happened in Arizona
from 2018 until now.
I have owned real estate in Arizona since
1984 and went through 2 real estate recessions.
The prices were being overinflated by bidding wars on homes and bad loans were given out right and left. I bought my house in 1989 and by 2007 the value had trippled. During the worst of the recession it was woth less than what I paid for it in 1989. The market doesn’t bounce back at those numbers. It is a slow climb back. Meanwhile, many abandoned their houses because they were upside down in their loans. Other lost their homes because they lost their jobs. This all happened under the Obama administration. The number of foreclosures was staggering and until those were off the market, existing real estate was flat. The prices slowly began rising and even by the spring of 2018, I had to take a loss because homes had not regained their values. It was a nightmare to ride out that recession. Once the election happened and we had a new president, the values continued to rise considerably through 2017.

A tool cannot measure what people went through during that time.

Companies and institutions run by individuals or organizations could decide whether or not to cover contraception.

Then the HHS decided, “nope, no options, only our way.”

Which I think you already know, and are only trying to make some point.

You can’t just throw criminal labels on people without a trial and verdict. No charges are on the President at this point, you’re assuming he’s a conspirator without proof - unless you are working for the Mueller team and have proof that you want to leak to us all.

This is also a no. I do not see a “fight” but a discussion". And the idea that I am taking a side to defend a leader? I think you are projecting about from Trump fandom.

You make not like the reason for the mandate, may not like it, may want ot work against it. But the idea that it was an infringement on the practice of faith is not the least bit obvious. You really should read the articles that I linked, because they both discuss the moral dimensions and may help in the proper formation of one’s conscience on these matters. At the same time, the Catholic culture article makes what I think is the proper differentiation between the moral and political issues.

I think this is important for discussion, so that people do not think that the Catholis who do not see an infringement in the HHS mandate are not wrongly accused - however implicitly - of betraying theifaith.

Thanks for the link form your source.
One star, Cher, has been documented as strongly criticizing McCain, but the documentation of her current praise is not there. So far the stars count is still zero.

whut…

I really don’t know where you’re getting this from. It was a direct attack on people of faith, to see how far the administration could push .

It’s frankly bizarre that you think there is any other interpretation.

Look, I get that you’re very sad about the results of the last election. It’s hard to have your side lose. I’ve been there, I know how it feels.

But to pretend the HHS mandate was anything other than a deliberate attack against the Church?

Really?

It is a peculiar idea to think that this was motivated to attack people of faith. And even more bizarre to think that that is the only interpretation. Given the voting demographics of Catholics, it is fair to say that at last about half of hte people of the Church disagree with you. Probably much more.
Really.

And I see that you remain unwilling to talk about the links.
Thanks for the calibration.

LOL in what world does “you have to provide a service that goes against your faith” actually not be an attack against that faith.

This has gotten silly.

I’m out
